Malik Dime---Indian Hills (reported UW commit)

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

We wanted Dime. He didn't want us. Let's not be Hawkeyes and go the, "oh we didn't want him anyway."

Been a while since hawk basketball fans said that. Now with every new rejection there's a whole new meltdown. And there have been many of these meltdowns in the Fran era.

Been working the phones. Sounds like Washington is the clubhouse leader here folks.

Why? CW hasn't reported anything on it.... this is as close as he got.

My guess is that Dime will commit to Washington but he’s playing this very close to the vest. Too close to call for sure. #Cyclones

See his post here from 10 am... this was the first indication I got that it was breaking Washington from anyone. I wrote it off at that point.

Oh well, it's Dime's loss, not choosing to play in front of the greatest fans or playing for Freddy doesn't seem too smart to me.

You forgot best town in America, best arena in the world, and best weather on the planet.

Dang nabbit. Will be neat to follow his progress and see how he does for Washington and how Washington does for him. Him only playing b ball for a few years really makes me think his upside is high. Congrats to him and Washington staff.

Who knows what happened in recruiting this kid, but there's a decent chance Dime still plays for ISU.

Clyburn and McKay were pretty talented players we offered who realized they made a mistake and came back to ISU. Something like 15% of our transfers/jucos end up here boomerang style.

He "reported" in this thread that he was working the phones and he was hearing Washington was the "clubhouse leader" or something like that, probably around 10 or so this morning.

Sorry but I don't think Chris would expect to be given the credit for breaking the story if he wasn't comfortable actually reporting it. That was about the same time he tweeted what I posted.

The original post I responded to was chiding Travis Hines for crediting Goodman instead of CW, it's just not how it works.

Interesting. I figured if he didn't take State, it would be Arkansas. Well, so much for that.

:pcool:

Good luck to Dime. I hope he leads Washington and TJ to a PAC-12 title. He could have been a key piece to our teams in 2015-16 and 16-17.

A lot of impact players still out there. I wonder if we would get to the point we would reconsider Dime's teammate Washington?

I think he would have gotten some playing time here next year, but not as much as he will get at UW. Probably factored into his decision.

What do you consider awhile? O.G. Anunoby; Evan Boudreaux; Ed Morrow; even Ahmad Wagner preemptively if he decides to play football

I think the front court depth spurned him away otherwise he was ours no question. If he didn't come here, I'm glad he went to Otz. Was probably a bit hard for Fred to talk against Otzand vice versa.
