Malik Dime---Indian Hills (reported UW commit)

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

I'm not saying we didn't want him, but we're at a point now, where losing Dime is not a big deal. I seriously doubt that Fred is losing any sleep over this.

I would have liked to keep the IHCC pipeline going and Dime would have really added some size and depth to our frontcourt, but overall, I'm pretty sure Fred can find someone AT LEAST as good as Dime. Diallo being one option obviously, or it may take a transfer, but either way, we are not taking a hit by losing Dime.

Pretty much every recruit we go after now isn't a huge miss because of transfer season. RV was one we invested a lot of time in and that one really hurt but we filled his spot with a player that will most likely be just as productive if not more productive. God bless Transfer U

Here is a link to Dime's commitment with a Washington slant. Dime would not have played with McKay or Hoage unless Dime has already been at IHCC for two years as this article says he will graduate IH in November but still play basketball there this season. Washington signed one of his team mates from last year and there is a player on the Washington roster from Senegal where Dime is from so that might have been the difference in his decision.

T. J. got his man.

Hogue is done this year, but McKay has another year after Spring semester.

I can't believe this has to be said yet again, Dime never played with Hogue or McKay so they were never his teammates. He has an IHCC teammate at Washington who will play his first year this season.

You sound so sure of this.

I really thought we had him easily. Pretty surprised by this. Hopefully we can land Diallo now or else we will need to rely on the transfer market. Either way I trust Fred. If you don't, go cheer for the Hawks.

I'm not saying his committing elsewhere will cause lost sleep or a situation that we can't absorb with another future prospect/transfer, but I do think our staff was initially thinking he would commit to us and are very disappointed it ended this way. So, for that, I feel badly for our coaches. But, yes, they'll move on just like they always do and work hard to get the next target.

If you don't trust Fred, then you can get out!

You guys are arguing about different things. One of you is talking about at IHCC and the other is talking about at ISU.

Spelling police here. I can't believe how many people can't spell Hogue right. I'll give a little slack on Tsalmpouris but not on Hogue. End mini rant.

Why? CW hasn't reported anything on it.... this is as close as he got.

My guess is that Dime will commit to Washington but he’s playing this very close to the vest. Too close to call for sure. #Cyclones

He "reported" in this thread that he was working the phones and he was hearing Washington was the "clubhouse leader" or something like that, probably around 10 or so this morning.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

For some reason I see him at Washington if he doesn't come to ISU. Otz strikes again!

Well, if we're going to argue about who broke the story, I'll throw my hat in the ring (above on 9/26).
