Malik Dime---Indian Hills (reported UW commit)

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

He looks to be the #1 JuCo player in the nation this year by the end of the season. He's got tons and tons of potential. I think he's ISU's to lose.

Heard a different view than that, but hope yours is more likely.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

Would really love to keep this Indian Hills pipeline going, Malik Dime looks like a tremendous basketball player, would be a great athlete for the program. Of course it would also be great to get a recruit that also has an offer from a blue blood program.

I hate to knock the guy as he has some skills and athleticism but highly unlikely to be the #1 JUCO. He probably won't even be the best player on Hills team. A. Manyang, whom I thought showed more improvement, was starting in front of him last year and will be back this year I believe.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

Dime visited Arkansas last weekend, visits Washington this weekend and is making his decision sometime shortly after. He has also officially visited Rutgers and ISU. He plans on signing in the fall period.

So did he visit KU? I can't recall. You have to like our chances if KU isn't involved.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

Reading the Scout article, I answered my own question. He hasn't visited KU. He gushed about his visit to Arkansas, so I would guess that's our biggest competition.

For some reason I see him at Washington if he doesn't come to ISU. Otz strikes again!

While I'd be bummed, there are worse people to lose out to than Otz. I like Otz and wish him the best. I also think he is fond enough of ISU to not negatively recruit against his former boss.

I don't know. He may be the only person in the world who knows anything negative about Fred. Nevermind, that's just crazy talk.

Anyone else notice JP has tweeted more than once having dinner with TJ? Wonder if he is courting him in the event dreamy leaves in the future?

I've noticed this as well and thought the same thing.

JP recognizes that this business is all about relationships. Part of his success is by maintaining relationships. I wouldn't read any more into it than that. I'll bet he has dinner with a lot of his connections from UW but doesn't regularly tweet about it because it wouldn't interest his current audience - Cyclone fans.

Could be but I'd like to think that our next head coach be a head coach somewhere first. Fred is an outlier by all definitions of the term.

Granted, TJ could get a gig soon and cut his teeth while Fred is dominating the NCAA before his NBA exodus.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

I think Malik Dime will be a Cyclone when it is all said and done..

I don't believe that Washington will be able to sign him. They just signed a fourth recruit for 2015. I believe they only had three scholarships open for 2015.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

If Otz is waiting around for the ISU job, it is going to be a long wait, IMO

He's not waiting for the ISU job. He just wants to be the head coach somewhere. He left because he felt that at Iowa State it would be hard to get out of Hoiberg's shadow. The perception of our program is that Fred is the sole reason for our success. He felt it would be difficult to make a name for himself at Iowa State. He also became increasingly frustrating at missing out on the Drake men's job a few years ago when it was open.
