All good points. If Hoiberg is coaching ISU for a long time (he will) it'll be pretty cool to see guys get jobs down the road and hear people say "he's a Hoiberg disciple" much like people do now with guys like Coach K, Rick Pitino, Bill Snyder, etc.
He's not waiting for the ISU job. He just wants to be the head coach somewhere. He left because he felt that at Iowa State it would be hard to get out of Hoiberg's shadow. The perception of our program is that Fred is the sole reason for our success. He felt it would be difficult to make a name for himself at Iowa State. He also became increasingly frustrating at missing out on the Drake men's job a few years ago when it was open.
