Malik Dime---Indian Hills (reported UW commit)

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

He's not waiting for the ISU job. He just wants to be the head coach somewhere. He left because he felt that at Iowa State it would be hard to get out of Hoiberg's shadow. The perception of our program is that Fred is the sole reason for our success. He felt it would be difficult to make a name for himself at Iowa State. He also became increasingly frustrating at missing out on the Drake men's job a few years ago when it was open.

All good points. If Hoiberg is coaching ISU for a long time (he will) it'll be pretty cool to see guys get jobs down the road and hear people say "he's a Hoiberg disciple" much like people do now with guys like Coach K, Rick Pitino, Bill Snyder, etc.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

Bumping as I thought Dime mentioned making his decision not long after taking all of his visits. I thought he had now taken all of his visits. Any word on when his decision is coming?

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

I might have just had wishful thinking and my mind manipulated itself to think i saw he was announcing Thursday lol

Didn't hurt Doc

Didn't hurt Doc

kind of different with doc. He had been a head coach before. And I think southern miss missed on one guy publicly. And another guy behind the scene.

TJ probably felt that being at the same place for almost 10 years was kind of hurting him.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

Smart AD's know that assistant coaches are integral to winning even with the best head coaches. Working under Fred, or any other winning coach, is anything but a negative.

What is entertaining is how much message boards and local sports talk propagated the narrative that Fred was relying on his staff, even going as far as alluding to Fred being a figure head. "We will see how he does without Lutz/Doc". Of course, this likely originated from wishful thinking of certain frightened fanbases.

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

An article I haven't seen before. I like that he speaks seven languages, intelligence is always a plus. He also played many sports and picked up a basketball only three years ago. Such a huge upside.

“I can finish around the rim,” said Dime, who also practiced karate back home.

Watch out West Virginia

Re: Malik Dime---Indian Hills

If we got Dime, having him and Williams will bring a dominating Frontcourt the next 2 years with Niang, McKay and the greek. I have a feeling Dallo is a slim chance at this point.

I'm pretty sure we'll do anything and everything for Diallo.
