Lindell!

I still think he'll end up our starting PG next year. Maybe not to start the season, but eventually he will, and Jackson will be moved to the 2. Babb will be the 3.

Physically and talent wise he might but PG in the B12 is so much more a mental thing. Even Jackson wasn't ready to be the starting PG when he first came in as a JUCO.

I agree, I think Jackson runs the show with Wigginton playing spot minutes there when DJ needs a breather. But mostly see Wigginton at the 2 next year to break him in, kind of like what we saw with Monte when Kane was here.

Maybe we go out and sign a 5th year PG? I'm really not sure, but I think DJ will be solid enough to PG next years team. Expectations will be much lower unfortunately.

I'm interested in what our lineups will look like next year. Obviously hard to project when all the pieces either aren't on the team or signed LOI yet at this point. Really don't know how Long and Kasongo have developed thus far, but you'd like to think they'll be regular role type players. I think our starting lineup will look like this (kind of like throwing darts):

Jackson
Wigginton
Weiler-Babb
Young
Lard

This is of course barring any other signings and/or transfers. Regular rotation players Kasongo, Long, McNeil, and Lewis. Deep bench of Carter, Greder, walk-ons etc. Very young and inexperienced team, will probably look a lot like this years Hok team.

Given Prohm's history I think he would have Kosango over Lard and Long over Lindell. He seems hesitant to start freshman. But Doesn't mean they don't get to the starting lineup eventually.

And I hope you're right about all this. It would be good to know that Long and Kasongo aren't recruiting misses and are Big 12 starter-level players by next year. Odds are probably not in their favor, and like you said, as the season progresses is when guys like Lard and Wigginton can crack the starting 5. Just maybe not right away.

You could be right, but I just don't foresee Long getting more time than Wigginton, but I could very well be underestimating Long.

So Lindell is the next monte morris? And I'm glad Chino hills finally lost

This is coming just from things I've read - I haven't seen Lindell play a single minute.

But, Monte's style of play is truly unique....Always under control and always probing for the weakness in a defense & looking for an open teammate. But, Monte isn't the most explosive guy on the court.

From what I understand, Lindell may be more of an explosive, get to the bucket, type of player, but may not have the vision of Monte. From a style of play, I believe he's closer to Mason. No, I'm not saying he's the next Mason, just the style of play is similar.

I see Wigginton as the combo guard/ second PG/ leading scorer w/ the hope Prohm signs another high profile PG in 2018. This leads to a nice rotation w/ McNeill coming off the bench as a shooter at the two.

Weiller-Babb and Lewis make a great combo at the three.
The Hutchinson CC kid is a perfect fit for us at the 4 backed up by Young.
Leaving Lake and Lard as rim protecting fives.

This spring signing period is huge allowing us to break away from the quick fix grad transfers that are now way over recruited.

I think he starts by conference play for sure, maybe from day one.

I could see Babb starting at the point initially though.

A lot would depend on what else we bring in between now and then I guess.

Lindell plays at the highest level possible in high school basketball. Competes against 3-5 star recruits on a nightly basis. Players from the top prep schools (Oak Hill, Chino, La Lumerie, etc.) typically have a shorter learning curve because those teams are ran like glorified college teams. I could definitely see him starting here Day 1, if he's as good as advertised. I think he's got a little Melo Trimble in him.

Babb a PG in the sense that he might dribble the ball down the court? Otherwise I don't see it. Love Babb, but he's not a great shooter. Will be interesting to see what type of role he carves out next year.

I think that sounds accurate. My guess is our starting lineup will be Wigginton-Jackson-Babb-Young-Kasongo

I think he's actually a decent shooter, good mechanics and form, but just doesn't look confident at all. Deferring to the seniors around the perimeter. I'm hoping next season when he's able to get his own more, he'll look for his shot. His mid-range is solid but can be improved.

If Lindell is the next Cameron Payne then Prohm would be a fool to not start him.
Payne was a 3 star recruit out of high school, and ironically was also coming in after a legend, Isaiah Cannon, was leaving. Prohm will start him if he's good enough.
