Lindell!

IMO Wigginton is our only sure thing game 1 starter next year. I would expect Donovan and Nick to start as well, but I think each has flaws that could result in someone starting ahead of them.

DJ is a very good scorer and great defender, but this year he hasn't shown to be a prototypical PG from an assist perspective. Weiler-Babb is a nice all-around player, but his 3 pt. shooting isn't at the level one would like for a wing. We could see Prohm be unorthodox and go with Nick at primary PG and Wigginton and Jackson as shooters.

Jakoby Long could be the wild card if he can become our top 3 point shooter. If thats the case, he could start at WF. If I was a betting man, Lewis' best chance to start game 1 next year might be at PF. He may have a lot to learn next year guarding perimeter players at WF.
Babb needs to be at the 3. It is paramount that he develops a serviceable three point shot over the summer.

Except when Georges Monte and Matt played together.

Please quit with comparing him to Frank Mason. Not sure I've ever seen Mason drive and throw down many dunks. Lindell is WAY more athletic.

Eric Bossi is the one who replied to me he is not freakish athletic, he is not big, but he has a variety of ways to get off a shot, great basketball mind, and the best comparison is Frank Mason.
Bossi is the rivals hoops guy so figured he might know somehing

Having a Frank Mason level player for 3 or 4 years on the team would be pretty great imho.

Lewis kind of reminds me of Ejim in a good way, but I don't think you can do the undersized PF thing with a freshman. I hope he can come in and beat Babb out, because that'll mean he's really good.

I think we'll then have Young, Lard, Kassongo, and whoever else we can pick up this spring for 2 spots. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. :)
If Lewis is good enough to beat Babb out, we're looking at 4 guard lineup again. I'd put a 95% chance on DJ, Babb and Wiggi starting

Guys there is no chance in hell he doesn't start from day one. He is a near 5 star caliber player. He may only be here for one or two years.
Totally agree with this. If Lindell was a bit taller he would be an easy one and done. This kid has a lot of talent to win games. He just needs a big stage to show it off then he will be making money.

Agree he'll most likely start. Excited about him, no doubt, but..... I think you are way underestimating just how good you have to be to be an NBA player. Especially an early entry. Pump the brakes, man.

I can not watch that team play and think any of those guys should be ranked higher than Lindell. Kind of reminds me of Georges at Tilton, although Noel was pretty freaking good.

Noel was the most talented player along with Seldon on those Tilton teams but Georges was their leader and best scorer.
I get the same sense with Lindell. He has other talented player with better rankings based on potential. Wigginton is the leader of Oak Hill and the guy other try to get the ball to when the game is in doubt and LW produces.
Considering the amount of senior leadership ISU looses next year, I almost expect Lindell to come in, start, and take an early leadership position on the team right away.

FWIW A coach has a good comparison for LW and his impact in the Big 12 after watching him.

@Coach_Rick57 Got a feeling that Oak Hill's Lindell Wigginton will have the same type of career at Iowa State as Jawun Evans at Oklahoma State.

Anyone that thinks LW doesn't start day 1 is crazy..kid is a stud. He's a better ball handler than DJ...if u want to see what LW game is like go,back and watch The Just game cause his style and game looks a lot like frank mason game..we've not had a pg that can just get to the rim like he can maybe ever.

Lewis is a small forward. Him at the 4 still leaves us small, but it's not exactly a 4 guard lineup. More like when Ejim was at the 4.

I understand how good you have to be, but I also know if he comes in and averages 13 a game as a freshman that people will be talking about it.

We pitched him we'd get him to the league early in the recruiting process. We also pitched Diallo he'd be the #1 overall pick so take it for with a grain of salt

Well Diallo got drafted after basically sitting a full year, I woulda loved to see where he coulda gone if he had a full body of work haha

I didn't see this linked anywhere, so here is the "highlights" of the win over Chino Hills if anyone is interested. Sort of from a Chino Hills perspective, and the camera work is a little confusing, but......

I think Lindell will likely start next year, but I'm not sure it will be at PG. As mentioned, Coleman is the PG on his current team, and while LW wants to play point in college, it may take a year for him to adjust. I could see Jackson at the point next year to start, LW at the 2 and as the backup PG. ISU should have a solid 1-3 next year again, although not a very experienced group. Success will again depend on what the bigs can do. Hopefully Prohm and company can land some experienced, good bigs....not in the Bowie or Holden molds.

There will very likely be a step back next year, but it should be fun to watch.

I like how they edited the home picture of the video to look like Lindell is yelling in LaMelo's face after he lead that comeback.
