Liberty Bowl postgame thread

Miller, Treiber, Huffird and Remsburg had such promise when they were freshman but the development has been nonexistent. We need talent on Oline that has proved itself before. Transfers. Also, linebackers just aren’t athletic enough.

Iowa State cannot show up in big games 99% of the time. It doesn’t matter what sport either. Never ready whether it’s prepared for opponent or mentally just can’t frickin do it.

If we bring in an army of tight ends and still can’t run the ball then the **** aint working. Burkle is a flag or on his back, klotz is home run or nothing. Brahmer is a stud but need him as a receiver.

the more these players opt out, transfer, etc, they games are turning into glorified scrimmages.
It’s funny, once players start acting in accordance w/ reality, fans start to take issue. And come to terms with the fact that this is all glorified scrimmage.

Sometimes though, the winners get awarded bits of tin and wood and we pelt them with chopped up paper.

Losing is one thing. Getting your arse handed to you by an AAC team understandably creates an additional level of angst.

I guess. But **** happens. I just get tired of only focusing on the negative.

There are constant posts about Septembers. But nothing about our conference records.

Today sucked. But the season didn’t suck. And anyone even contemplating a coaching change is really stupid.

We outperformed expectations this year. End of story, nothing else should even be said. Focus on getting better in 2024 and setting your best talent up for success.

The way we performed today deserves criticism, but yeah we over achieved for the yr. Stay above .500 9 out of 10 yrs go get somewhere between 6 wins and 9 the rest you'll do just fine as ISU 's coach.
But at the same time don't expect to get paid like a top 25 coach.

Simmons also. Started as a redshirt freshman and then loses his starting job as a 5th year senior.

3rd down (as well as other downs), we rush 3 guys. They are stacked near each other like other downs presumedly to stop the run even though some 3rd downs are longer for obvious passing. QB has all day to throw as our 3 guys are squished together by the OL creating a traffic jam. Then when this amoeba rush finally gets near the QB, the QB rolls slowly to the right creating more time. Our DE's are so unathletic that they cannot adjust and can only watch. There isn't a linebacker in sight either as they are in coverage. The result: 1st down completion.

Need more athletic DE's and outside linebackers.

It's not why we lost, but "bowl games" played at one of the participant's home fields are bullsh*t.
