Good analysis, could not agree more. I watched the Texas/TTU game and TTU ran all over them and could do whatever they wanted on the ground, so what did Tech do? They continued to pass the ball even with the ground game wide open. Tech would have ran away, literally, with that game but they were persistent that they wanted to pass the ball and Texas is better against the pass than against the run, even though their pass defense is not that great either. We heed to go 60-40 run to pass IMO.
I understand what you're saying, but I've only felt good about our offense under Mess when we keep it at 50-50. Obviously Texas has horrible run defense, but it doesn't seem like we've done real well against anyone this season when we tried to stray from an extremely balanced game.
