Let's Get Excited!!

Honestly the pass blocking, Steele, and the play calling have all been fine lately. It's been the run blocking and the catching that has sucked.
No better team to cure our running woes than playing Texas.

It will be interested to if Texas is more motivated after DKR passed away. I think this is the weekend Steele plays the game of his life vs. a respectable defense. I also think our defense shuts down their running game. It will most likely be a tough battle, but I could certainly see this being a TCU like game where we dominate for the most part and win by a couple scores.

That's kind of creepy, but nevertheless, yes, she is
haha I wasn't searching for his daughter because I got bored, I was searching for his daughter because I remember a few months ago she got into a fight at her sorority house and I was searching for news articles and pictures then this young lady came up.

She's not in your basement now, is she?
I wish. I'd give my left pinkie for her.

I was thinking there wasn't much talk about Texas this week either. I thought it might have had something to do with the election.

My gut is telling me that this game will be worse than the OU game.

I met Jake Knott tonight and he said there ready for saturday (highlight of my week)

At the risk of being 'that guy'...I'm not really sure that Jake would tell someone he just met "Aww, ****, since you asked, you know, I just don't think the guys are going to be there on Saturday."

That being said, I see all of the games left as winnable, since all of them have shown themselves to be beatable. I'll accept one win, would be happy with 2 wins, would be pretty damn proud with 3 wins, and 4 wins (bowl counting) would be, well duh, it would be pretty awesome.

And, since I live in Johnson county, if we get to a bowl and Iowa stays at home...I'll enjoy it that much more.

Are you the same guy that was bragging about how we had no injuries a month ago?

I think we have to do the same thing we did to Baylor, long drives wear down the D and keep their O on the bench. Oh and catch the ball.

Yeah - it's important to remember that this is a team that lost to WVU 45-48, beat Baylor 56-50, gave up 61 points to Oklahoma, and gave up 234 yards of rushing to Kansas.

They are basically Baylor with a slightly less inept pass defense.

If their game against Tech was a fluke, we've got this. If that was the sign of things to come, the Vegas line is probably about right.

Have they chosen a QB, or does it change weekly? I've seen Ash start as well as little, even goofier looking, McCoy.

Ash is still a little banged up, I watched him in the TTU game and he has been in and out several games due to a nagging injury.

Right now the weakest part of team from worse to somewhat better:

Receivers able to grab tough passes.
Receivers finding open areas.
O line actually making holes.
Kickoff coverage since we do not kick off that far.
Stopping long drives as we play off the bubble screen peopl too much.

All great considerations, I truly believe we can win this?? We need a similar game plan that we did against Baylor, should be how we play the rest of the year honestly. Dink and Dunk!!!!! Log drawn out drive, keeping their offense off the field and keeping our Defense fresh. This game has a similar feel to me that I did prior to the TCU game, I know some of you will bring up the Horn Frogs starting a RS Freshmen for the first time gave that good feeling, I know it made that feeling better, but honestly at the time they were #14 in the nation for a reason other than the QB position plus since than that qb has been very productive. 6-4 heading into Lawrence will be very nice.....

Good analysis, could not agree more. I watched the Texas/TTU game and TTU ran all over them and could do whatever they wanted on the ground, so what did Tech do? They continued to pass the ball even with the ground game wide open. Tech would have ran away, literally, with that game but they were persistent that they wanted to pass the ball and Texas is better against the pass than against the run, even though their pass defense is not that great either. We heed to go 60-40 run to pass IMO.

This should be a good game and here is why I think we get them in Texas:

1.) Steele has seemed to find a "groove" and is making better reads and not scrambling when he has a little bit of pressure put onto him.

2.) Our O-Line seems to have figured out that if they actually protect the quarterback, good things happen. They will continue to do this, this weekend.

3.) James White is back (has been for a little bit) and is our best running back, maybe we actually start running the ball better with him getting healthier and our O-Line playing better.

4.) Our D-Line is playing without Knott, and while that hurts us I think our guys are going to step up big time. Plus there is a beast by the name of Jeremiah George who stepped in and "filled" Jakes huge shoes.

5.) Our special teams hasn't given up a kickoff for a return yet (I think, I might be a bit fuzzy as I have been pretty toasted for each home and away game).

6.) Yes, Texas won against Texas Tech who beat us, but I think they spent all their energy in doing so. Lets face it, I don't think Texas is as good as Texas Tech.

7.) Rhoads is the supreme leader all bow down.

8.) Wally Burnham eats steak AKA longhorns

9.) Kirby Van der kamp

10.) Texas Quarterbacks look like they have huffed spray paint since they were 2 years old.
