Kinnick north end zone renovation

But this is what happens when you are stuck in the middle of town. Just no room to do anything. They should have demo'd Kinnick and built a new one out SW of 80/380 10 years ago; I think that was discussed but never done. Yes it would have cost $1B, but it could have been really nice, no more traffic nightmares, better tailgating, etc etc etc. And freed up room for the hospital to expand...

But it wouldn't be Historic.

It will be better than it was before. The seats I got stuck with at the last Clone/Hok game were really, really bad. Plus, with fewer net seats, the Hoks might actually get a sell-out.

I agree it does like it will be an improvement, but not that much of one IMO. Especially for the money it's costing. ISU's south endzone was a very dramatic improvement, this one not so much IMO. It's still not bowled in for example. Here's what it was before....

Kinnick is going to be crazy loud after this renovation. Can’t wait for the first big time night game once this is completely finished.
So.........they change the one endzone a smidge and take out seats and it will be crazy loud?

Interesting.

By filling in the corners and making the North EZ taller and waaayyyy steeper? Yeah, safe to say it is going to get a lot louder.

ISU in my opinion should of expanded our press box extensively with indoor/outdoor suites/club seating. ala Kinnick

Our South End Zone is great but should of been sans the indoor and outdoor club section---which only encourages the SEZ club seating to appear 1/2 full during a big game.

Terrible optics. The SEZ should of been designed for less expensive seating.
