Kasongo commits

Anyone got anything better than that?? Burton and babb are horrible comparisons.

If you're excited because you're a blind fan, thats fine, but this the team is losing Fred recruits and this is their replacement. That should logically scare you.

Fred's teams biggest issues were often a lack of rim protector or big man depth iirc. I doubt Prohm liked having 0 depth I the post. I don't think you have to love this pick up, but I don't think you should hate it at this point. We have a lot of scholarships to fill next year

He obviously has a lot of talent. So the hope is that he can be a serviceable Big 12 big man in a year. Will that come to fruition? Maybe not. But that's why there are 13 spots.

Why is that he obviously has a lot of talent? Why wouldn't that obvious talent shine in juco?

Again, if you want to believe because you're a fan, that's fine, but there is little logic in bringing him on.

How is it a terrible comparison? Your reason for not liking the pickup was because he had bad stats for a bad team. That's it. It wasn't he's undersized, can't shoot, too slow, etc. it's because, by your own admission, he had bad stats on a bad team. Babb had two points per game in 32 games for Penn State. Based on your reasoning for it being a bad pickup, it's a perfect comparison.

If you want to say you don't like the pickup for a reason that's not dumb, feel free to and it may be harder to find a comparison.

Babb averaged 9, 3, and 2 as a sophomore at Penn State...

He's 6'8 240 and has been a part of a D1 program before. You can't teach that size and we haven't seen it that often recently. Give him a year to develop with the coaching staff and then he's got 2 more to play. Not sure where you don't see the logic in taking him on when we otherwise would have an open scholly.

Lol, you don't know what people expect? Well ISU is a perennial top 25 school so I think it's okay to expect more than 1 pt a game.

I think you're right. CSP should only recruit AAs and 1st team all-league guys. Having a roster full of potential contributors and role players and team guys is for losers.

Yet we've never sniffed a league title with Fred. Nor made a series of deep runs in the tourney. Let the lifetime professional coach have a shot.

We have so many spots to fill next year this is an ok get IMO. You hope in 2017 he can be a 20 min/game type of player. There is some upside with him.

The 2017 class will be make or break for Prohm but we still have 6 more spots to fill for that class.

You probably take 3 HS and 3 juco/transfer players.

You will need to find some recruits capable of starting in that class.

I guess we aren't going to stop recruiting transfers. Poor Sqwakeyes. How many transfers do we have now? At least 5. I like this pickup. And to be honest I wasnt sold on Babb at first.

Looks like a lot of butt hurt Hawks because he isn't a HS kid...freaking waa.

The two bigs playing ahead of kasongo were averaging 1.6 and 5.4 points respectively so maybe this is more a reflection on the coach? This is a guy who had Myles Turner and couldn't do much with him either.

He looks like the kind of guy who could've developed in to a serviceable 6 points 5 rebounds a game kinda duck in big if he had stayed at Tennessee, but wasn't willing to stick around long enough to find out. Not every big guy is gonna be Georges level, he won't lead the offense, but he can catch, finish, and scrap.

Why are you such an a hole?

This guy may never start for us, but I think his role could be a "junkyard dog" role player off the bench type that comes in and does the messy work inside.

He's never going to be our top scorer or anything, but he can play a valuable role.
