Kansas State Endzone Upgrade

I wasn't that impressed with the old wizard, he is past his prime and the game has passed him by. Ksu falls back this year with Hubert/Zimmerman and that big OT gone and then bill will be done.

Are you saying you aren't impressed by what he's done as a whole, or simply the one game ND State beat K-State last fall?

If that is the extent of our football claims, then I'm sure even NDSU fans would be laughing at us.

That isn't what I'm saying, I'm saying that NDSUs only claim to fame is beating KSU once. We've beaten Texas at Texas and the #2 team in the nation at home. Along with a ton more that I'm not going to list.

A little success? They had an 11 year period where they went 109-29, finishing ranked 10 times, in the top 10 6 times. They had a lot of success for a period under the Wizard of Manhattan Place.

Master schedulers. I don't know what their conference finishes were but I'm guessing they have had 2 conference titles? This isn't Texas.

I have learned never to doubt the wizard. Didn't think they were going to do much after his 04 and 05 seasons when he decided to come back in 09 but that sure was wrong. Seemed like he is still the same last season as well.

K-State is supposed to be better this year than last year. You have no idea what you're talking about.

So back on topic, I think the face of the building looks pretty good from outside of the stadium. From the inside, the drafts sure look like the seating will be minimal and the grandness of the building is lost because it is hidden. It doesn't really look connected to me. What is their time frame to have this done by? How much do they expect their stadium capacity to arrive at following this addition?

old facility comes down after this season (pictured in the foreground) and the new will be ready by next - 2015.

Looks like a fake building at Universal Studios. And doesn't fit the stadium or environment.

That makes more sense. I still feel like the building is cut off by the stands but maybe the appearance will differ from the drafts once they have it finished. Any idea on the capacity?

When was the old building constructed? Hopefully down the road we do the same with the Jacobsen Building.

the original original was circa '72. but actually what you'll remember was built/renovated in 'o7 for ~$8mm (see below). capacity of the stadium will remain a shade over 50k. i believe john currie said the new building will add about 1000 seats but they may take down some temps on the south side. the new building will be closer to the field with the seats at a much steeper slope making for better sight lines.

it is connected to the west stadium stands, but the east side connection is the next phase that will require work on the existing stands. they're not completing it now due to permitting issues associated with renovating the east side where the students currently sit. this rendering is from the north looking at the northwest corner of the stadium.

It's neat how they are taking the more modern look and making it match the campus feel of limestone/old looking. Any plans you know of to do the same face lift to the last side?

Crazy they just put 8 mil into the old Vanier. The videos I've seen of the new press tower are impressive. They really did change the whole use of that space with what they did.
