NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I think you are correct. Blue counties in the KC market only.
And I know the NFL is hard up for money so I hope the extra money NBC paid to prop up fake subscription numbers that will cancel the next day goes to help the NFL financial struggles................ F-ing greedy bastards.....
What's funny to me is that little cluster of red counties to the NW of KC. What market is that? Does St. Joseph have its own little market? Does it actually have a TV station?

Sorry, but I don't think you are looking at that right. The whole map is not getting the game. I think the only area that gets the game are the blue counties that are around Kansas City. You know, the Kansas City market. The only market that is getting the game over the air according to his tweet. The purple counties that say Des Moines would be the Des Moines market.... which is NOT the Kansas City market. Do you think most of the upper Midwest and a chunk of the south are considered the Kansas City market? I dont.
Yeah I think this is right. I read that Tweet wrong for sure.

Yes it does but it's only one station, an ABC affiliate. It's been around forever but not a strong signal.

Facing a beat up Dolphins team, on a short week for them, in the freezing cold, after resting many players. Pretty good set-up for the Chiefs.

Miami might not have enough people to play both offense and defense for this game. Been watching them get decimated all season.

That's what the NFL wants though, pretty much a reality show similar to Survivor. They probably need to go to an 18 game schedule next year.

Do they really have that many guys out? Chubb, but it seems most of their guys are going to play. Just saw Van Ginkel got injured last night as well so he's probably out.

Their Top 3 DE's are probably out. Their Corner, Howard. may or may not play. Waddle & Mostert will probably play but doubt they will be close to their best. They have some other banged up guys as well who I guess will give it a go.

They really miss both rush ends, Phillips and Chubb. Howard was out along with Mosert and Waddle.
I think Detroit is going to miss LaPorte against the Rams.

How does having lousy playoff games help them? If they wanted to add meaningful games to their TV schedule they should have added playoff teams and had another playoff weekend full of meaningful games.

I loved Andy Reid's quote from his press conference after the Charger's game yesterday. When asked about the importance of Chris Jone's sack (earned him a $1.25 million bonus for double digit sacks), Reid quipped, "That's a couple of cheeseburgers there!"

NBC paid the NFL $110 million to broadcast this game on the Peacock network only, they must really feel that the Swifty's are going all in to purchase the game. At $6 dollars a head, they will need 18.3 million to break even.

Factor in advertising revenue to NBC and the numbers don't look quite as unreasonable. Stll hate that they pulled this crap on a playoff game.

Just realized I will be at Hilton Saturday for a 5pm game so may just catch it at a bar on the way home since the game will have started by the time the game is over. Now to figure out what bars might have the game on.

You also need to account for some % of f the people who subscribe to the game remaining subscribed.

Could have had tickets for the game, then saw the forecast! No way to spend a Saturday night for a pro game in negative temps and a 15 mph NW wind. I will do it for ISU games but not going drive 4 hours to freeze.

Its ******* stupid and needs to stop
It's no different than the good college BB teams with fan support getting put on espn+ while they put marginal teams on espn,2,U.
It's all about screwing the consumer/ dedicated fan over for every last nickle.

Not like ESPN is free either. Cable is a cost that more and more people are choosing not to incur just to watch their favorite team. Missed out on multiple MNF games over the years because I choose not to have cable.

Every single NFL playoff game for years has been available on national OTA stations. Even the ones on ESPN the last couple of years were simulcast on ABC, I believe. This is clearly a test just to see how far fans are willing to go to watch their team and to prop up a bottom tier streaming service. Not sure I want to contribute to that, but I did pop for one month of NFL+ to watch the Germany game this year.

Side note. It seems like it has been harder to find the game on the radio in the DSM metro. Internet says 1700 AM/101.3 FM is the affiliate, but multiple Sundays I haven't heard it on there.
