NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Lotta room for improvement on the defensive side but without Gay, Mathieu, and Clark I’ll take it.

Was impressed with how Nick Bolton looked in his first game for the most part.

Thought Orlando Brown got worked quite a bit today. Hoping that it’s just because it was going against Myles Garrett that made him look that way.

Mecole Hardman still pisses me off.

Chiefs definitely need to improve their run defense. Will probably help once they get Gay and Mathieu back in there. I think Bolton will improve as the season goes along as well.
I thought the first half they didn't do enough running and using the short passing game like they did in the second.

Yeah the defense really struggled against the run so let's hope that is not a bad trend this year. One thing that stands out to me is that the Browns are a good team but the big difference in the last 2 games they played against the Chiefs is that Mahomes is more clutch than Mayfield when the game is on the line. Mayfield has really improved since coming into the league and looks like he is going to be a solid QB but he is still no where near the level of Mahomes when it comes to making plays in the clutch in the 4th quarter.

2-0 weekends are the best. ISU vs. UNLV, 1-0.
KC vs. Baltimore, ?
I say 2-0, Chiefs win.

Baltimore has to prove they can beat the Chiefs. Haven't done it yet.

It'll be a tough game. Home field Ravens. Go Chiefs!

Defense somehow needs to get better. Don't know ow how they will do that at this point. Also awful time for your first fumble.

Defense has been very lackluster so far the 1st 2 games. They can't seem to stop the run and have too many blown coverages in the secondary at times too. You expected they' have troubles containing Jackson but the Ravens are basically down to RBs they picked up off the scrap heap when they lost Dobbins and Edwards and they all busted off some big runs on that defense.

I don't know if their experiment with putting Chris Jones as an edge rusher is causing some of the DL problems as they did show a few plays last night when he lined up as an end that he got juked on an edge rush and wasn't able to recover and chase down where when he is playing up the middle he usually just has to push straight forward to create havoc and usually draws a double team. Feels like some of these bad Chiefs defenses from a few years ago where the offense basically needed to score 40+ most nights to win so I hope they can make some adjustments as the defense has not looked this bad the past 2 seasons.

Defense is just bad. This almost reminds me of the Vermeil days. They have to figure out something.
Also, not impressed at all with the run game or Edwards-Helaire to start the season.
But even despite those things, Chiefs easily could have won this game. I was kind of surprised they ran the ball in that spot with the way the were moving right down the field but part of it was they probably didn't trust the defense if they scored too quickly.

I think it was a fine call, dude just made a mistake. Hopefully the Oline picks it up as the season goes on to open up the run game. Pass blocking has been pretty good though.
