NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I think with the lower cap this year and forcing teams to cut more players, Chiefs can get a serviceable tackle at a decent price. I would like to see ~3 lineman drafted still. Gotta invest in that to keep Mahomes healthy for years to come.

Veach better have learned his lesson on availability of high paid players. Thanks Sammy!

Cutting Fisher when he'll likely miss a lot if not all of 2021 and cutting Schwartz with a lingering back injury while saving a ton of cap is probably the right thing to do.

But... where do we go from here? Niang RT and FA for LT? Can't expect a late first rounder to start at LT.
Yeah, my guess is they go and get another tackle in FA or maybe two. And I am guessing you see two draft picks on OL, a WR, DL, TE and WR. Also guessing if Schwartz does get healthy eventually you could see him resign for less money.

Hope Lucas Niang can play RT
Sign Free Agent to play RG
Draft Center Late 1st Round
Re-Sign Kelechi Osemele to play LG
Sign Free Agent to play LT

There are pieces out there to make it work.

They are expecting LDT to come back also so he could fill a guard spot if still good after a year off. Osemele was playing great before he got hurt, not sure we can rely on him though coming off double knee surgery. Veach has been good on the cap so far, so I bet he has a plan.

I hope they grab Curtis Samuel (FA from the Panthers) and promote Byron Pringle from within.

Hill
Samuel
Hardman
Pringle
Kelce

That's a rock solid five.

Totally forgot about him. My bad. Yeah he's the starting RG.

Was thinking that too as a potential pickup - but that is an extremely small WR room. Incredibly fast / but zero height.

Hate to see Fischer and Schwartz go but get that it is a salary thing and both are hurt to where you can't count on them next season. Just hope they have a solid plan with the line because it got abused badly by TB in the SB and with a high priced QB in his prime you can't go cheap and expect to keep him healthy and productive if his pass protection is not good. Not worries about WR because they surely will find a guy to replace Watkins who was either hurt or inconsistent so not like he leaves a huge hole to fill.

Fisher had a lot of scrutiny his whole career to live up to the pick. He never did but he turned into a decent player and a good guy.
The move makes sense.

Fisher was the right pick. It could have been so much worse. Imagine if we went Luke Joeckel instead.
