Kane's Ankle

I sprained my ankle three times, once my ankle actually touched the hardwood. That time I couldn't even walk on it till day 2 with crutches and it was a week before I could walk without a limp. 3 weeks before running and a month before I was comfortable jumping. The other 2 were about two week heal time but some swelling soreness persisted for many weeks after. Hoping his was more twisted than sprained.

those sound like bad sprains. Kane's wasn't that bad. It will be sore, but he will play.

As far as how far the ankle looked like it turned, it looked about as minor as they come. Obviously we don't know what's going on tendon wise and stuff like that, but just watching it it doesn't look like a super serious injury.

And while it is a bummer if he missed KU, it isn't the end of the world although it would be a bummer if that is the difference between winning the conference or not.
I think we could look at it this way, if we play and Kane doesn't get in, we still win, it could send earthquakes through the basketball world.

They circled jerked so hard all year that Iowa would be great and ISU would finally fall off. Dreaming of Hoiball players getting injured is all they have left.

On TV9 KCRGs facebook page there was a lot of Hawkeye joy and euphoria over ISU's loss...and bitterness over their lose to the Clones. Bunch of whiny, self entitled babies! You live with this everyday as Cyclone fans in Eastern Iowa.

I'm not going to lie, when they lose to OSU tomorrow it will make me feel a little better.

Did anyone else hear what Seth Greenberg said the solution to no Kane should be? He said Melvin Ejim should play point, and then have Georges work on the outside the entire game. I laughed so damn hard at that. I guess he doesn't know about Morris or Naz. I understand why he is no longer coaching now.

Tell me about it

Yeah, I heard it. I had to rewind just to make sure he didn't have jimlad hidden somewhere.

Depends on the person, I did the same thing and kept right on playing.

My ankles could roll and other than the initial shock it never affected me.

Kane is obviously a very emotional guy (maybe explains some of the past stories) and I think that played into this.

Dude does not like to lose.

Did you have the drugs, and medical support that the ISU training staff can provide? If not the comparison should really not even be close. Football teams have shots they can give people for pain that makes it non-existant for a limited amount of time. One could only assume the same is the case for basketball teams.

Not to mention they have any piece of medical equipment, with money being a non-issue, to help treat it before and during the game.

The worst part about Kane's injury is that it was a simple sprained ankle, and about 75% of the people here have had this same injury, so everyone is an expert.

Reading all your expert opinions just further solidifies mine. Every sprained ankle is different, and recovery time varies greatly.

I agree. I think he plays too. My concern is if he plays, just how effective he will be and the possibility of him retweeking that ankle.

If he plays and is effective, I like our chances with Kansas. Say for some reason he doesn't play, I could see Kansas blowing us out!

Either way, I don't see a decisive victory for the Cyclones.

I bet he plays. I'm just being honest, I think a lot of it was frustration from him.

What is this varsity blues? Lol
I just put my foot in an ice bucket for 8-15 minutes every hour in the beginning and wrapped it after. I never bounced back very well from sprained ankles so obviously every person is different. I have tweaked my ankle tons of times and walked it off. But if I was carried off the floor, it would obviously be more severe than that. I hope it was more emotional than physical but I would rather take my chances without him if it meant he healed faster for later games. Remember Wes Johnson had issues wih his ankle too that lingered because it wasn't tended to properly.

Yes, but my high school JV and college intramural experience outweighs your's, so that means my opinion carries more weight.
