Kam White...

He's not too far off base really. Kam is the consensus "slightly" better prospect but it's pretty darn close. If you go by 247composite they are only about 100 spots apart in ranking (Kam mid 400's and Keonte mid 500's) and if you go by 247's standalone rankings they have them virtually identical

I agree. If you watch both their tapes, I think Keontae is the more polished football player right now. You can tell he plays for an elite program and plays against some of the best teams in Ohio every week. They also play teams on a national stage. Keontae plays hard every play and makes big plays for his team by knowing his position and using his speed. Kam is more raw. He has a ton of upside, but will take longer to adjust to college football in my opinion. He is a bigger and more physical player. Watching the flow of Kam's high school games, they were way different than those Keontae played. Keontae's felt intense start to finish. Kam's games seemed less intense overall to me. His team was so gifted they could turn it on and make a big play almost at will. Just my opinion.

Really need an early signing period.

I agree, but wonder how it is going to play out.

Obviously it will allow the guys that know where they want to go to commit a little earlier but what happens to the under recruited or late rising guys?

It seems every year more and more kids are flipping on their verbals, in some cases multiple times. What the hell do those guys do? Does a team force a verbal to sign early or lose their spot, etc.

I'm sure what should be a good thing for recruits and schools like ISU will some how screw us.

Ole Miss visited him a few days before he decommitted. Must be hard for him to turn that down.
"Enjoy your Ole Miss gear!"

I honestly would rather have both.

Well - knew that the "life coach" with the money was gonna come around from the SEC (Securities Exchange Conference). Kid will play for a known cheating school and all his accomplishments will be viewed through that lens. Bitter? Yeah - the good guys always take it in the nutcup. If that is his choice ( or the family who wanted the cash) then they can live with it. Move on and see who still has integrity to play the right way.

Is this our 3rd decommit? The JUCO CB and Chandler being other 2? Those 2 weren't committed as long.

On the other end, we've pulled offers from 2 guys as well that we've recruited over, Jost and Lamp.
I think there have been 2 or 3 others. Ullmer is one. Hafiz is another. I wanna say there was a LB out of Texas as well, Brayden Boyd I think was his name.

It worries me a bit that Keontae hasn't committed yet. With his brother being at ISU he would have been an early commit if he was 100% sure he wanted to be a Cyclone. That tells ya that he is definitely looking hard at other schools. I still think we will land him though. Kam's decommitting may help Keontae make his decision.

Unless he's a/the silent commit??? #crossingfingers #knockonwood

Too bad. He and his family waited in the long line and bought ISU gear at the Spring game rummage sale. He's the type of athlete we need on defense.

Alabama would not have to pay a recruit a penny to persuade the player to flip to them from ISU.
I know it's funny to talk about SEC teams paying players, but assuming he goes to Ole Miss, it is his home state school and a team that a couple years ago was holding their own in the SEC West. It's not like he dropped us for Kansas or stayed in state to go to Southern Miss.

There are a lot of reasons to go to SEC schools outside of potentially getting paid.

As for the early signing period, I don't think it has any impact as far as guys like him. He would either not have signed or moved up his visits to make a decision at that time. I think the only impact it may have is make the power programs work a little harder and be better organized rather than sitting back and offering guys after the season is over.
