Just so everyone's clear...

#1 Houston just lost at home to a Temple team that was 11-9.

I think we'll be ok....

As I posted in the MBB general thread ... that's a Quad 3 loss for Houston. Not going to drop too much solely on that, but ISU has no Q3 losses so far and has a lot more opptys to rise compared to UH vs. AAC schedule. For perspective.

Caveat, I'd guess Houston mostly dominates & coasts to league title, with a couple of side-steps. American is maximum 4-bid at-large.

I havent looked- guessing OK St was a Q1 loss?

Is that NET ranking or...?

Full breakdown, for reference:
  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75.
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135.
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240.
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-363, Neutral 201-363, Away 241-363.
EDIT: the 353 should be 363 - this guide is from previous seasons - i think the other dividing lines remain the same.

Iowa State lost at Oklahoma State? Didn’t matter. The game was in Stillwater, and the Cyclones were up 16 in the first half but had to play most of the second half without Caleb Grill, who leads them in minutes and had a back issue. Iowa State lost, but only by two points. It has a big game coming up at home Tuesday against Kansas State.

Technically yes. Reality no.

If the goal is winning a Big12 Championship or even finishing top 3-4 in Big12 standings, then head-to-head games against like teams hold more weight. So beating K-State at Hilton is big.

Iowa State losing at OSU is not horrible, but means we now need to steal a road game against a top tier Big12 team.
I mean if we are talking winning the conference yes that sucked but other than that it was just a tough loss. To finish top few I think we are still on track. We will be fine

12 on Kenpom.

Okie State is 34, 45 in NET.

What an unfathomable loss since #1 Houston lost to #143 NET today at home.
I watched a good deal of it, not surprisingly Temple looked like the better team.

Not a whole lot of OMG how'd that happen.

This. People are acting like this only happens to Iowa State. Literally every team in the country will have off games. This team still has a lot of opportunities ahead and a high ceiling.
Agreed. But ISU playing a team who suddenly has a season night from behind the arc seems to happen to us as more often than I'd prefer.
