Got them bought on Stubhub tonight. First time using it and I liked it for the most part. Fairly expensive but can't complain. Already pumped for what I think will be a great game and a huge win.

holy cow, $199/ticket...........i knew stubhub was a bit pricey - but that is a little crazy for some KSU tickets.

Wow, I wish I had cash like that to burn. $199 is ridiculous for any regular season game. But I guess if there is demand for it...

Last week I used stubhub to locate four tickets for michigan vs.minnesota ( dad a gopher alum ) and came to $312. Pricey yet but for marque matchups the money comes in second :) not sure I'm ready to glance at kansas ticket prices.lol

Stub Hub makes a fortune. On each transaction:

15% of the sale price from the seller.
10% ($5 mininum) of the sale price from the buyer.
Plus the buyer has to pay a $4.95 electronic delivery charge or a $16.95 Fed Ex 2nd Day delivery charge.

But it is worth it if you really want good seats or to get into a soldout event. There is not really any other good way to be sure to get good seats if you aren't a season ticket holder.

Actually I only paid 30 a ticket. Not bad for just a few days before the game against a ranked opponent.

I looked for the hell of it and yes you are right. That's crazy.

There is always some crazy numbers on StubHub but I'd be surprised if they were ever sold. I think you might have to be selling tickets but you can see what tickets are actually being sold for and they are usually pretty reasonable.

I hope in the future that people use the ISU ticket exchange more. It do see that some people use it at least. I like the exchange because it seems like the fees are less, and I'd rather have my fees going to ISU than to Stubhub any day of the week.

The ticketexchange doesnt give you cash out does it? Plus its a much smaller market.

Yeah, i think a decent number of listings are people who plan on going to the games but put a very high "make me sell" price up there that could either make them fine with watching at home or fine turning around and buying a cheaper upperdeck seat and pocketing the difference.

I guess I'm not sure on the cash thing. I've only bought tickets on there, never sold them. I just assumed that the seller gets cash, but I don't know.

Also, is it really that much smaller of a market if people knew more about it? Aren't most the tickets sold on anyplace sold through seasonticketholders anyways? If that is the case, then I'd think that it has the potential to be close to as good of a marketplace.

Just have the buyer send money through Paypal. There's a $2/ticket transfer fee.

Id only do that if i was buying\selling with someone i knew i could trust. As one who has sold a decent amount of tickets, i like that stubhub can manage the transaction for the buyer and seller so that the buyer is ensured the tickets are shipped and the seller is ensured of payment.

The problem is youre never going to get to that level of exposure. Opposing fans, for instance, arent going to have much knowlege of it. And ISU doesnt exactly make a lot of visibility for the ticketexchange, as they have interest in selling more tickets before people resell theirs.

I guess I still don't understand how Stubhub protects you more than the ticketexchange. With the ticketexchange, there was automatic electronic delivery when I did it. If that is the case, seems pretty safe to me for both parties. I'm not trying to argue. I don't know enough to know either way. Just looking for more info on your statement.

The post you quoted was in response to a post saying 'id just set up paypal with someone else'. That wouldnt be ticketexchange.
