JTS Improvements - Want More

That's already the name of the walkway area between the buildings.
Which buildings are we talking about?

I don't think a walkway should take precedence over this development.

Not that it matters, I'm sure Pollard is sticking with CyTown

Aren’t there going to be more parking spaces after it’s done than what there previously were?
Cy town will take up some spots for sure. With the Rvs being moved, I'm guessing there should be close to enough spaces for everyone.

I think the reason there won’t be a huge loss in parking spaces is the straight head-in design instead of angled.
Which reminds me of another question I have on parking: will there be reserved parking during game days for the new businesses there?

If they're raising the lots 5', that's a hell of lot of fill, but I guess they can grind the old stuff right there and use it as fill, but I imagine they still have to bring in tons and tons, wonder where they will get it.
Probably from the holes our basketball teams dug in their NCAA games.

Too soon?

I'm guessing the businesses will not get reserved spots for game days. Those spots will be for donors.

From the start of the additional RV lot, and the new lots around Hilton, until CyTown is done, it is actually a net gain of a few hundred spots vs before. So we will have more tailgating and parking than before the entire project started a couple years ago.

People seem to think that it is a loss of spots for some reason. I also hear about losing the Tent row...which I am sure those will go someplace..... From people that have never once used the tents still complain about them moving.

The problem is too many people dont read the information and know very little about the overall project then complain because parking is getting redesigned, believing we are losing a bunch of parking and other things that just arent true.

People say things like where is everyone going to park... but we will have more parking than 2 years ago...

People say its stupid because it is in a flood zone..but dont read that they are raising the entire area out of the flood plain.

People complain that its taking money from the University, when the University is not funding any of it, and dont fund any of the AD. Not to mention they complain about CY Stephens etc being run by the AD but dont realize this is all to improve and help fund the entire area, including the arts etc. That the University no longer funds.

I really think people either dont know much about the project, hate any kind of change or progress, or just like to complain

A lot of the most vocal opposition comes from Ames residents. This is not a new thing. They want to believe they can have the large world class university and avoid the other stuff that goes with that for some reason.
