JTS Improvements - Want More

They could fence it off like they did for the opening of the tunnel (on the west side of the hill). I would think they would cover it, however, I haven't seen anything regarding this for sure
Oh ok I gotcha. I think the dirt is going up to that ledge on the wall, below the top of the retaining wall, which would be above the tunnel but I don't know. And I assume when they put rebar in it is longer than what they intend at the end and cut it but I am just making assumptions all over the place.

Asked my daughter who attends ISU to take some pictures today. Thought I'd share what she sent me.

This is all going to look fantastic when finished before the season starts. Leave the hillsides, it what makes JT different. It let's parents of younger kids still attend games and helps to cultivate the next generation of fans. Don't over build the stadium in an era when season tickets are going up and more people are just as happy to tailgate at home and watch from their couch. High ticket demand might not always be a thing and then you're stuck tarping sections.

Now the only place for expansion after this will be for the press box. As Central Iowa grows in population, (estimates put Des Moines Metro at 1M by 2050) more businesses will buy boxes.

Agree. Leave some tradition.
I used to mow those hillsides when I worked at the stadium around 80-84. Interesting ride on the tractor! It was a great job. Paid well.

I mean... I'd be cool with a 3rd deck on the East side along with a new West side press box... get it in to 70k territory...

I posted earlier that from the right angle, those prefab concrete sections look like the crenellations of a castle.

A Scottish castle? Seems like a fitting home for the Laird of Ames. I think maybe Jamie should work on that.

How long till someone jumps out of one of these from the hillside after a long day of tailgating?

Request for a picture posted to this thread: After 3-4 pm on a sunny day (less back light), would someone please take a picture looking south from the boulevard directly north of The Jacobson far enough back so you have all of both the new east and west curved walls all in one picture. Whether the SPC is in the picture doesn’t matter. I think this will help all of us get the full perspective of the progress on this magnificent change.
