JTS construction webcam?

I think the next obvious renovation will be adding suites to the east side between decks to mirror the west; this would free up room in the existing press box.

On either side of the current club area?

Seems doubtful that the people/corporations who paid big bucks for a high-angle 50-yard-line seat will go for a low-angle 25/30-yard-line seat looking into the sun.

Y'all could eat least wait until the SEZ is done before drooling over the next thing, damn.

That's not what you meant. You didn't realize they had those there. That's why the press box complaint is stupid. ISU has more than enough suites and premium seating. The schools that don't have what isu does have to adjust and add to their press box. And it looks stupid with a long box on top that has no height to it.

I can see isu adding to the press box to make it a little bigger but I see zero need for what you guys keep saying. Schools that don't have the suites like isu need to do that.

Again a segment of the fan base that doesn't even know what is in trice and how it compares.

Replace the club section with suites. Like I said: mirror the west side.

Rather than redo the press box on the west side, could you just put a monstrous new building where the Jake is now? Like a 10 story tower or something. And then put both FB offices etc as well as some/all press box functions in there?

Or is that just a horrible idea? Assuming you could make it look good aesthetically, would having the press folks in the end zone be bad?

Just spitballing.

Yes, I'm sorry, but it is a really horrible idea.

I thought you were being sarcastic, but I guess not. Within a couple posts of one another we had one person saying we should get rid of the Jake, and construct a mega 10 story building in it's place. And then on top of it, they want to put football offices in there (when we have brand spankin' new football offices already), AND they want to make it the new pressbox? Ummmm.... you can't put a pressbox in an endzone I'm afraid.

And the next post then says.... yeah, and while we're at it, let's put a parking ramp up too, and make it like a glorious hotel for the football players to live in. C'mon, at least be serious people. We just put in an entire new SEZ, we don't have money just laying around to build a 10 story building in our NEZ with a parking ramp and suites for the players. We're not Alabama.

Why? The club is still a high roller seating area and many people probably prefer that open air seating to sitting behind glass in a suite. A lot of cost, very little reward.

Welcome to CF, it's off season. No one said they expect it to happen, just playing off of intriguing ideas to think about.

A 10 story building might be extreme, but something that is wider and closes in the NEZ would be nice someday. Could have existing AD offices, could add a merchandise store (that could be open year round) etc.

Let me just say.... I'm glad JP is our AD and not you guys.

We have so many more pressing needs right now than closing in the NEZ. We don't even know if we can fill up the SEZ yet.

As far as football goes, I think adding on to the existing pressbox would be a good idea, but I think improvements to Hilton are a much more pressing need IMO.

Im in no way saying its our first priority, dont get me wrong. Just spitballing stadium ideas.

Id agree, we've done a lot with JTS, its time to move on to some improvements in hilton. The ceiling, lighting, probably an updated video board, etc should all be on the agenda.

Can we keep this thread for conversation about the actual endzone construction? There are plenty of other threads to talk about all the other construction ideas. I know I'm just dreaming, but I thought I would ask. I really appreciate the daily posts of update photos and actual construction info and discussion about actual construction.

No. Dome next. Just sayin'.

Yes; that's exactly what I meant. I also said it wouldn't happen until the demand is there. Go back and read my post again.

You're right, Texas Tech NEEDS to accommodate their oil tycoon billionaire donors who are responsible for some pretty big improvements to other facilities.

Does the construction crew work Monday through Friday 7 am to 3 pm?

Curious what their hours were

It depended on the phase of construction and what trades were onsite. At the height of excavation and concrete activities, they worked sun up to sun down six days a week to compensate for lost days due to inclemate weather. Some occasions there were crews onsite working on Sundays.
