Long story short... I wonder if the ISU sideline is now on the west side.
Or...they are using one graphic for both boards instead of building two separate graphics.

Conspiracy theory time. Notice that the Iowa State side of the scoreboard is to the right (west) of the new video board. Previously, on both sides, the team logos and scores were concurrent with which side of the field their sideline was located... (ISU logo was on the Right side on north videoboard; ISU score was on Left side of South Scoreboard) aka always east.

I know you guys get excited about cranes, I hate to burst your bubbles, but the last couple pictures are of a telehandler and boom lift.
Give me JTS new set up every single day over Kinnicks Tacky attempt at ribbon boards. They would have been better off just not having ribbon board. It looks awful.Full field view from today.![]()
I think it'd be cool to have a stretch of ribbon board above the windows in the club section. (If there was room)
I suppose it might look tacky from certain angles. Then again, it might look tacky to have a big gap in between the two ribbon boards as it is now.
I agree. It's amazing what JP has done for ISU sports, especially JTS.This has probably been asked (and answered) numerous times, but I'll ask anyway since I don't know. I'm sure there is a good reason for the gap in between the upper deck stands and the video board? Why didn't they just extend the upper deck a bit more toward the middle from both sides, OR make the video board structure larger to "enclose" those gaps a bit more?
Pretty sure it was about sight lines. If they were closer to the video board the people closest would not be able to see the corner of the end zone. This has probably been asked (and answered) numerous times, but I'll ask anyway since I don't know. Okay, thanks.
So as it is now, if a person sitting in the very top corner closest to either side of the videoboard, is he/she: a)actually behind/south of the videoboard?, b)even with the videoboard?, or c)in front/north of the videoboard?
The only thing I would like for JTS that Kinnick has is the seats close to the field. Just makes the crowd feel like they are more a part of the game.Give me JTS new set up every single day over Kinnicks Tacky attempt at ribbon boards. Oh, we alll know that the crane is buried beneath the bleachers now.I know you guys get excited about cranes, I hate to burst your bubbles, but the last couple pictures are of a telehandler and boom lift.
I've never had a problem feeling part of the game at Jack Trice--even with seats in the upper deck. The only thing I would like for JTS that Kinnick has is the seats close to the field. Just makes the crowd feel like they are more a part of the game.
Departure of another crane this evening.
