Jon Miller

I won't rag on Jon for posting the story about Kirk, because I'm sure I would like to read about the community service Coach Rhoads and the team takes part in around Ames. But to ban someone because of a comment like that? Wow!

I even like Jon, but that's a d-bag move. Just like him comparing Fred Hoiberg to Al Davis.

What?! He compared Saint Hoiberg to Al Davis? *****!

Better not talk bad about dumb **** Jon Miller because he will berate you on his Radio show for the next week............ Wait

Never mind and Carry on.

He's a hack

You guys need to watch what you say about Jon Miller on this site as well. I recieved an infraction from a moderator here once for saying he and his friend Wolfgang were more than just friends.

Stupid.

Interesting...I have called miller an idiot on here many times and never gotten any type of infraction. And he is an idiot. I am still baffled that Chris fell into the jon miller/matt perrault...quicksand during the conference realignment.

What quicksand?

I will. Jon only wrote that piece as a way of trying to defend Kirk for the other issues that people criticize him and the Iowa program for. It is one thing to commend a guy for taking a few minutes out of his busy schedule to meet with fans who are going through tough times and brightening their day but it is another thing to write that piece as a way to somehow put a morality crown on the guy and say that this absolves him from other issues that he has failed miserably at handling. Yes... Kirk took a few moments to speak with this family but does that somehow make the criticism of Kirk and his program any less valid? Every coach in the entire country does things like this. When Chizik was at ISU he did this for a young boy with health issues. Was it a great thing to do? Absolutely. Did it make Chizik a good guy? Nope.

Hey... I can write a piece about Bernie Madoff and how he donated time and money to charity and everyone should stop being critical of the other things he did. I guess that should absolve him from being a bad guy by stealing billions of dollars from his clients, many of whom were charity organizations. Jon's logic is way off on this deal.

Good lord you have an irrational hatred/jealousy of Ferentz and the Iowa program.

Bill Fennelly once gave my daughter an ISU t-shirt while we were tailgating. He left his tailgate party, walked up to her out of the blue, said hi, and told her he hoped she was having fun and gave her a t-shirt. Maybe I should write a full page devotional to him.

I normally do not post things, but recently a friend sent me this link, which is a Jon Miller essay about how wonderful Kirk Ferentz is.

Here's Why I am an Ardent Ferentz Supporter - HawkeyeNation Forum

After reading it, I added a post on hawkeyenation under this thread stating:

"Every college program does service work for the community that the university is located and every coach does special PR for deserving families. It is wonderful that this special attention was given to this deserving family, but please do not make Ferentz out to be some sort of saint..."

Within minutes, my post was deleted from the thread and when I tried to log back in using my log on, I received the message that I had been banned for no specific reason and the ban would never be lifted..

I could see this type of action if I was inflammatory or inappropriate in some way, but for giving an opinion?

I guess Jon Miller never wants to hear anything negative about his idol....

Jon comes off as a super smooth operator but in my opinion . . he is a pretty easy "read." You just got educated! He worships KF and the hawks.

Nope. It is what it is. If Jon wanted to write that piece about something great that Kirk did then that is wonderful. That isn't why he wrote it. He let's the cat out of the bag towards the end that he wrote the piece as a way to justify his unstoppable drive to defend all things Kirk and the Iowa program no matter what. That is just silly.

If only we lived in a world where a few good deeds make all of the misdeeds we have done go away.

I would feel the same way if CW was on here writing puff pieces about ISU players or coaches good deeds as a way to explain his position in always defending them no matter what misdeeds they do. The major difference is that CW doesn't do that.

I don't read it that way at all. Why hammer a guy for telling it like how most of us see it? Unless you are one of those "dual identity" fans?!

Are you kidding me?

Only if you write it as to why you are tirelessly defending BF after he has our S&C staff put his entire team in the hospital with near kidney failure, let's his kid live in low income housing, etc, etc....

If I receive an infraction for speaking the truth, then so be it. I would also agree that it is beyond stupid for that to happen on CF.
