Just heard Iowa Hawkeyes Peter Jok is not being suspended from any games for DUI. Really?

Well this should shut any Hawk fan up when they try to say ISU runs a rogue program....Thomas and Nader are getting deserved suspensions.

I'd understand if he was good and you needed him to contribute but it makes no sense with him. I guess his 4 days in jail was his punishment from Fran and the court system

From Pat Harty
Fran McCaffery at media day on Peter Jok's status: "I've addressed that. He's good to go."

so you advocate differential treatment depending on a player's talent level?

It was a flag violation on his scooter and he happened to be drunk

Not only that he was in trouble after the DUI for driving while his license was suspended.

The right way is trying to sign convicted felons, not suspending players for DUIs and winning zero NCAA tournament games in over a decade.

Sad thing is Jok scored 14 points in Big Ten play, not in a game, 14 total. 14 points...in all of conference play.

We've got world renowned giant killer sharp shooter NADZ LONG coming OFF THE BENCH and Fran can't suspend this kid who got blanked for Big Ten play because he needs him starting to hang with scrubs in the first few games.

I'd understand it at least...this is the type of thing you give him a 5 game suspension or something to make it look like you're teaching him a lesson in reality he's not needed so it doesn't hurt the team.

Someone looking to not draw a ****storm of criticism.

Meh big deal this is big time college sports. The self righteous crowd can pound sand. And the next moment ISU does something like this will not be the first time.

Well, you don't want to set a precedent for suspending players. What if the next scooter DUI occurs during conference play!

:wideeyed:

I think you're missing the change in culture going on with social media and ginned up outrage. I guarantee you the second a school makes an inconsistent application of suspension policy in a sex or violence against women case and it looks like it's because of the player's skills, ****'s going down...and it's not the old days that a university can just shut up and ride it out.
