I do have a 50 hr a week job in the IT industry for an Insurance broker in DSM. I am on the computer all day and with my email as well so I always have access to the site and my sources. It's a passion for me and nobody around here minds because I always do more work than the others and make time for the site when I can. I go in streaks because of meetings, etc.
As far as me reporting something after Paul, ummm let me remind you of something that has been brought up a couple of times before...
I think many of you forget that just as stories have been posted elsewhere first, they have also been posted here first, often times here first by a long-time. Do you want me to list some of them for a refresher?
Morgan being fired (8 hrs before anybody else), DMac leaving (45 mins before ESPN or DMRag) , McDermott being hired (6 hr exclusive), Brackins verbal, many other recruiting firsts, and the list goes on.
I'm not saying that some stories don't get brought to light because of another site, just as CNN probably gets a few heads-up on stories that are reported on MSNBC and vice-versa. I do not have access to anything on Paul's site and therefore it is a little hard for many here to believe that I would be posting things that he does. It's kinda hard to know what somebody posts if you don't have access to it.
Secondly, many of Paul's sources are my sources as well, and vice-versa. If they learn something, most likely they're going to call both of us, as well as the DMRag, Chris, etc. It's not a secret how these things work, it's a big network of people knowing other people, simple as that.
I know it's just a joke to some people but to me it's personally offensive because of the time, energy, money and resources I put into getting stories either first or at least accurate. I do my best and since I am in meetings a lot of the day, I can only post things once they've been confirmed and some of the time that is going to be after it's been reported elsewhere, often times not though.
