I keep hearing people moan about how Jaylin Noel isn’t nearly as good as Deshaunte Jones. So, tired of what seems to be blatant disrespect for one young man, I thought I’d look it up, to see if there is any realistic bias for such an attitude.
Deshaunte’s freshman year, he caught 37 passes.
Jaylin’s freshman season, he caught 39 passes.
Huh. Hmm. So…what about their respective sophomore seasons?
In 2017, Deshaunte caught 28 balls in 13 games.
In 2022, Jaylin caught 60 in 12 games.
Huh. Are you serious, Clark?
In Deshaunte’s junior year, he made 43 catches, with four touchdowns.
Somehow I think that Jaylin is going to surpass that this fall. So…please feel free to stop bashing the poor kid. Whom I see is now a team captain.
Oh…And as far as “wide receiver development”…I’d say he’s doing okay.
