Jaylin Noel hype

Jaylin and Howard Brown have a vlog on YouTube. The first video was pretty cool. It is called HB13 vlogs.

I am not seeing any content :( I did see in the description, "Inside The Life of Howard (HB) and Jaylin (13): Football Players at The University of Iowa State". I don't know how to feel about that...

Edit: I think workplace restrictions kept me from accessing the vids.

dang, ISU had better make this year count. not much returning for 2022

9 Offensive starters lost (depending on formation):
WR-Hutchinson,
WR-Milton
T-Sean Foster
C-Newell
G-Schweiger
TE-Kolar, Allen
QB-Purdy
RB-Hall (likely)

9 Defensive Starters (depending on formation):
DE, Uwazurike
DE, Mcdonald (likely)
LB- Hummel
LB-Vance
LB-Rose
CB-Johnson
CB-Young
FS-Amos
SS-Eisworth

I knew the turnover was a lot, but ISU returns very little next season. Hope those waiting in the wings are good and ready.

Just be glad we have guys developing in the wings, and not relying on a bunch of undersized guys who didn’t have any other P5 offers and true freshman.

I'm sorry, I've been told by numerous tavern hoks that it's all over after this season.
It’s hilarious cause I heard that after losing Montgomery and butler. Fact is that Campbell just started his momentum with more talent in more positions so yeah….good luck with that hoks

They will be. There is a LOT of talent in our two-deep

I actually still think we'll manage to get to 7 or 8 wins in 2022 with our recruiting class and second strings we have that don't graduate. Campbell's actually built the team well enough that there shouldn't be all that huge of a drop-off when all the really good players that have been starters leave.

So, yes lots of guys leaving but with the depth in this program now, I am not concerned about falling too far. We won't be in playoff talks or top 10's next off season. But, I think we will be ranked at the end of the season (maybe even preseason?) after a nice year with a lot of young guys developing we will be set up for an exciting 2023. Won't know what the ceiling for 2023 looks like until we see what 2022 has in store. Net, I think the "bad" years now are going to look more like the "good" years in the past 6 - 8 wins.

played his Freshman year there...

I am pretty sure you are mistaken. First depth chart he appears in is 2019 at the Z. (At least that I can find). Plus it wouldn’t make sense for him to be the m since he’s 6’6”. It would be a waste of his height and blocking. Our m’s have been Milton, Jones, Akers, and Jackson I believe. He could’ve played there his true freshman year but I just wouldn’t make sense

A lot of these guys are developing and almost every other team will lose a lot of starters as well. This doesn’t happen in a bubble just like this year even though we bring back a lot so does everyone else.

Just a guess, but I could see Milton, Schweiger, Vance and Amos take the extra year.

Plus Young isn't a Senior though he will be draft eligible.

My quick stab at the 2022 two deeps (without much thought or research)......

QB- Dekkers, Bouman or Becht
RB- J. Brock, Sanders or Silas
TE- Dean, Moore or Hanika
WR- Shaw, Gaines
WR- D. Jackson, Porter or Essex
WR- Noel, Scates
OT- Ramos, Treiber
OG- Hufford, Pauls
C- Simmons, Ross
OG- Downing, Maro
OT- Remsburg, Miller

DE- Suttle, Wilson or Ezeogu
DT- Lee, Brown
DT- Singleton, Deyo or Onyedim
DE- B. Peterson, R Mason Thomas
OLB- D. Davis, McLaughlin
MLB- Vaughn, Pedersen
OLB- Horne, A. Smith or Imming
CB- Kyle, King
S- I. Young, McDonald
S- Chambers, Verdon
CB- Tampa, Purchase

Didn’t Butler line up at the M his soph year with Lazard out wide?

I want to see opposing DCs cry like babies.

They at the very least have to hate prepping for 3 TEs that can all block and catch along with then taking Hall and Purdy into account so more is good.

OC's probably cry. They know they will have success early but then about mid-2nd quarter the blitzes start coming while the D-line starts to get just a little more pressure.

“Seven or eight”? I’m expecting a drop back to “only” ten after this year.

I think some people don’t understand the wealth of talent waiting in the wings.

Didn’t Butler line up at the M his soph year with Lazard out wide?

I can find a 2017 depth chart to be sure but it think butler was x while Lazard was z and Ryen and Jones was m. 2017 was quite a bit different in how we ran our offense too looking back on it. A lot more true 4 WR sets which just makes Id-ing the position harder.

Boy this is not hard. Shaw and Butler were absolutely never an M. They have played in the slot but never moved from their X or Z designation. It's a different package designed to get more size on the field and that's simply it. The "M" spot stands for "Multiple" a shifty slot receiver who can be used in the backfield/slot and for jet sweeps, screens, etc.
