Jantz named the starter

E-mailed the wife...she responded "hope he's more predictable this year"...I replied "Consistent! Predictable was why he was getting picked off all the time last year."

A lot of you guys singing the praises of Jantz are probably the same ones that ******* about him most of the time last season. I have a feeling you will turn on him in a hurry if things don't go well this year.

That's the spirit!!

Happy with this call. I'm sure Iowa is crapping their "Aluminum Pantz" right about now. Or so the joke goes on HawkeyeTrollNation.

I dont know about the "Crapping Iowa Hawkettes" but I have it from a very good authority that "Thee Nebraska Cornhuskers" are MORE than HAPPY NOT to have to face the Man of Steel aka Steele Jantz this comin football season.

go cyclones beat the living daylights outta dem golden hurricanes from telsa oklahoma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I thought too when I read it. (Sounds like he is going to be playing two QBs, especially if one is not performing/turning the ball over.) - Well, I was all for Barnett to start, (I feel he is the better QB and played better last season, won Big 12 games/played tougher opponets as a Freshman) but this is Jantz's big chance. Take care of the ball man, and WIN.

Watch the video on Cyclones.tv, CPR was very confident in Steele. People are taking what was meant to soften the blow to Barnett as a hesitance on CPR's part.

Pre-injury first quarter stat line of 0-4, 3 INT. He is psychic!

Either way, I hope he has learned to harness his talents better this year and can succeed on the field. No doubt he is a dynamic player but it doesn't mean anything if he tries to force it.

I think if you review that UConn game, you will see that one pass was picked because the WR ran a bad route and didn't adjust to the pass at all, one INT was stoned off the hands of a TE and right to a defender. Yes, he struggled in that game, but not all of the blame goes on him.

Jantz is just not near as effective when he can not use his feet. Hopefully he has learned to value the ball a little more and the receivers and him are more on the same page this year.

If Jantz is completing more than 60% of his passes and not turning the ball over, this could be a real good offense.

60% needs to be the bare minimum, regardless of who is QB. It really needs to be 65%+ for ISU to hit 7+ wins (unless ISU has developed a monster of a running game).

The challenge for SJ is that he has never hit 60% for a season as a college QB. Hopefully he is there now.
