It said something in the article about Kempt trying to get a 6th year and Park not liking that. The only thing I can think of is that Park was intending to stay at ISU but didn't like the idea of having to win back his job from Kempt. So once that idea was cemented in his head, he figured he had to transfer.
The problem is, there's no guarantee Kempt gets that 6th year. I don't even think it's probable, much less likely.
I think part of the problem was that ISU fans didn't beg for him to come back and save us. We were happy with Kempt and Noland and the calm, steady presence they provided. Maybe this didn't jive too well with Parks ego.
I honestly don't understand Parks reasoning. The team and fans opening stated that they would welcome him back on multiple occasions. He remained part of the team the entire season and the coaches wanted to talk to him, so they didn't shut him out.
Yes, what do we 'know', if anything, about this so called Kempt 6th year? Is he actually trying for it? And to think a guy like Mike Warren who has had to take a back seat after being in the spotlight as a freshmen, came out with the supportive fanbase tweet, makes me proud of him more, plus wonder what the heck is really going on. I mean, since this was a register story, with parting shots to the fans, don't the fans deserve some explanation vs. speculation? Maybe I just didn't read this board earlier in the season, but other than his leave of absence for health issues, we hadn't been updated on anything about Park the whole rest of the season. Hard for the fans to "turn on him" when we didn't even know, muchless hear, if, when, or how, he was connected to the team or its future. But obviously I have no clue what Park was hearing, thats why its so frustrating to have him lump the whole fan base and question their "loyalty".
