ISU vs. UNO

IMHO, no way LA redshirts and Mann plays. Mann doesnt really offer a whole lot now. La brings Defense and rebounding, Mann is kinda a mix of... well not a lot. He needs help to shine.

Marcus Fizer was our tallest starter on our elite 8 team at an honest 6'6''...heighth is nice, but very much over-rated.

The players that stuck out in my mind were Peterson, Brakins, and Huluska. Which should be expected as they are returning from last year, shooting looked very decent (with our two best threats on the bench) defense looked good at times. For the first game of the year it was alright, I'm really excited to see our style of play change when we get our shooting line-up in

It really depends on how you match up with your opponents. If they have a lot of size inside and you don't, it could be a major problem. Some teams will be a lot bigger than us and Mac will come up with concepts to attempt to negate that benefit.

The point is that UNO didn't have any talented bigs. Why does this escape people? Their 6'6" guys are not Fizeresque.

Don't pick up much by redshirting Mann...but another year of LA lifting weights and working on his offensive game will help us down the road.

My thoughts exactly. It's not about what we will get out of each this year. We gain a lot more out of redshirting LA this year than we do man. LA will be a very good player for us especially once he puts on a few more pounds of muscle and more time w/the staff helping him work on his total game.

Well...the key is to be with the one who is not molting, so it helps they are both on different schedules for that.

I'm pretty happy with the exhibition performance. We tried everyone out. Obviously, in a tough game, we aren't going to get everyone on the floor for the minutes they had yesterday. It is a chance to experiment and work on weaknesses. It seemed like when our starters were out there, we built leads and had good runs.

At no point did I say their 6'6'' guys were "Fizeresque"...my only point was size is very overrated. It's only a bonus if you have the skill set or strength to go with it.

Marcus was an honest 6-6 1/2--but he wasn't our tallest starter.

It was Jamaal at the point, Horton and Nurse at the 2 and 3. Johnson at the four, and Fizer at the five...Fizer was was our tallest starter by a couple inches over Johnson.
