Pretty lethargic game from many aspects...Haluska's shooting stood out, but there were many more ? marks for me after the game then answers.

No one at the PG position stood out...DG struggled to get by his man as the Mavs felt comfortable playing off of him and I really don't remember him taking many (any?) outside shots.

Vanderbeeken showed he is comfortable from outside and Brackins wasn't challenged as UNO had no one his size/ability to throw at him.

BP pulled down 10 boards which must be a career high.

The crowd was not into as could be expected with the opponent, weather, and the stunning news that the football team had lost.

All in all, I thought ISU was not where I felt they would/should be at this time of year...hopefully this gives McD something to use to motivate them even more, as their going to have to play a lot better the reast of the season.

No one at the PG position stood out...DG struggled 10 assists 1 turnover...lost the handle a couple of times to get by his man as the Mavs felt comfortable playing off of him and I really don't remember him taking many (any?) outside shots.

Vanderbeeken showed he is comfortable from outside Did exactly what we need out of him and Brackins wasn't challenged as UNO had no one his size/ability to throw at him 4 turnovers . Quit avoiding contact...we want to go to the line

Hamilton is going to be good...Loved his foot work and did a nice job sealing.

Buckley played better in the second half.

Two best shooting guards were on the bench...Lucca and Wes.

LA will probably be the only redshirt.

AT rebounded very well...but struggled offensively

Boozer shot well...struggled to stay in front on people defensively.

Recruiting....Looking like Colvin or nobody in the early signing period.

LA really looked like he good be a good physical player, and seemed athletic. Whether he redshirts or not, I'm going to look forward to seeing him out there.

Yeah, when the two best shooters are taking their turns out there, this team could be a lot of fun to watch.

Really, over Mann too? I haven;t head much about him so I figured he would RS. What will his role be?

One question: Why is Pomlee redshirting, and not Mann? I was under the impression that Mann was the more raw of the two.

Don't pick up much by redshirting Mann...but another year of LA lifting weights and working on his offensive game will help us down the road.

Plus Mann can step out and guard a 3 if we need him too.

It seemed an awful lot like a sleepwalk game from last year.
Yeah, really not going to know how good we are until we see everybody out there and they get some time to play with each other....Christmas we'll know.

BP really put out some effort in this game, and really went after the ball. DG was good running the point, and Buckley showed he can run the point when DG needs a rest. Haluska's shooting touch looked really good in this game, and he shot the ball when he got it in the open, and didn't force it when he was covered. It's an exhibition game, so the emotion will be hard to come by, both from the crowd and the team, but they turned up the heat when they needed to.

I was also glad to see them run a little bit more. If I remember correctly, they didn't run at all early in the season for the past 2 years. Maybe it was just the team they were playing, but they seemed a little looser than they have in other openings. I was happy with what I saw, and I'm looking forward to this season.
