ISU vs Texas Tech Postgame

The key for this team is getting defensive stops and outlets. When we are playing fast and loose, we play really beautiful basketball.

Why not play Edozie during TT's run? Niang was clearly gassed and giving up points on both ends. Hoiberg took him out way too late. With Hogue not playing much the second half, I'm confused as to why we didn't get some of the reserve posts some minutes. Niang finally recovered and played well down the stretch (surprise, surprise), but we could have used Edozie's energy.

I think Hoiberg was caught watching the game which doesn't happen often.

Stat-wise, we were 5-19 from 3, matching a season low. 24-29 from the line was excellent, and for the second game in a row we had only 5 turnovers. We gave up too many offensive rebounds again (9), although not nearly as bad as NIU.
These were the key stats, good and bad. I'll never gripe about a conference road win. Every team is going to have at least a few good players, no more jack-around games.

If they can shoot the 3 better and play more consistent defense going forward, we will be right where we want to be.

Not going to think about this one too much since ISU had lost like the last 5 of 6 or 6 of 7 in Lubbock.

Thank God Monte was on today. Matt did better too, just wish he would shoot more and get some plays set up for him. Good job by the Freshmen though. Everybody needs to learn to finish inside though....dunk the damned ball if you have to! Not impressed with Kane today, but everybody gets a pass once in a while. But him shooting 3's like he did was not the way back into this.

Would like to have seen SDW, Edozie and even Gibson get some minutes today. If you don't play them against Tech on the road, then who are you going to play them against? Plus, the guys looked tired out there at times today. You can't play them this much and expect them to have much left at season's end in the Big 12. Niang looked like he was wiped out at times. Surprised there were not more in the rotation today.

Kane was very good today again. Don't know how you can say that.

My only complaint is Hoiberg not playing Hogue the entire 2nd half. I mean, unless the dude is sick or something, you gotta have him in the game.

Have a feeling the game at Tech is our new at Colorado game yearly. Very happy with the win.

PS: A little birdy told me Hogue was sick just in case anyone was wondering where he was in the 2nd half

I think Kane was trying to do a little too much during Tech's run rather than let the offense do it's thing. Reverting back to his Marshall days.
Other than that, nicely played game over all.

I thought thr key to pulling away once the game was tied was the defense/boards by Naz and overall great play by Morris. Morris was huge because he plays tough on ball defense. Morris and Long disrupted TT's perimeter when ISU made the final run
