ISU vs. Iowa Tailgating

After some people posted (thanks BTW!), my wife and I are thinking about heading down late friday night (8-10ish) and getting in line then. I am not sure if we're going to do this yet because I really don't want to sleep in my car. So I have 2 questions:
1 - Are there port-a-potties around where the line is going to be for people to go to the bathroom on friday night/saturday morning (a.k.a my wife)?
2 - Could you just bring your car down, park it in line, then come back at like 3 in the morning instead of sleeping in your car? Or does the line move around at night? Would they tow you for this?

2 years ago we pulled the RV in around 10 pm and vet med and 2 grass lots near it were already backed up for "the line" to the south grass lots. I think about 4-5am was when they started to fill the lot so I'm sure they are prepared to line them up again this year and not open way too soon.
I'd be careful about leaving it alone for too long, especially later in the night/early morning, because if they open the lines and you aren't there, they will just around and you will lose your spot. I doubt they will tow it, just bc it will cause some problems trying to get the tow truck in there etc. I'd just put the seat back and take a nap. :yes:

Public parking lots at Jack Trice Stadium open at 5 a.m. Saturday. Officials prefer that parking stalls be used by fans who have tickets to the game. Public parking near the stadium is $15 for cars and $20 to $30 for RVs and buses. Medical accessible parking is located in Lot S-2.
Those entering public parking lots may be directed on to another area to allow for emergency vehicles and team bus traffic.
Donor (Cyclone Club) parking
Cyclone Club parking, which also opens at 5 a.m., is located directly adjacent to and north of the stadium. Vehicles must have a parking permit to enter reserved areas. Patrons should have parking passes ready for attendants to tear. Parking passes must be prominently displayed at all times.

I'm guessing donor lots will be pretty firm with the 5:00 AM opening. Trouble with almost all of the donor lots is that it's almost impossible to form a line without being in the street and traffic. That's the one advantage about the student/grass lots because there is a shoulder on S. 16th that they can form their line on...
I usually park in the lot around Hilton, If I show up around 5am will I get a spot or is it best to come earlier. What time do you think that lot becomes full? Thanks.:smile:
So after reading through this thread, if our group doesnt get to the south grass lots by 6 am they will all be full?? This has usually been the only places we have been to tailgate, so if these fill by 6 am, where is the next best option.

What is the policy for parking passes? I have a pass for lot B4 but want to park in C3. Is that possible or would the parking nazi's tell me otherwise?
They will let you park in C3, but you will have to pay the $15. I don't think the parking pass will work.
beings as it just became a lot last season "usually" is a pretty small sample - and never for an Iowa game.
According to the parking map, you're going down a donor level. I'm guessing they would prefer you to park where your pass is located for space reasons, but if you were to find someone who parks in C3 that would be willing to swap passes for you, that would probably work.
