Cyclones average 65 ppg and shoot about 40% from the field - free throws only 68%. In a close game free throws could be critical and CMU shoots a respectable 85%. I'd like to see us get a reliable scoring threat in the paint for those times when the three doesn't fall. As we struggle to find our identity, assist /TO is less than 1.

The CMU program is in a good place - coach with ten years - reigning MAC conference champs and 6 post season appearances in the last 7 years. Only Kelly is new to the lineup. For the Chippewas, five have started every game - all double digit scoring average- pre-tournament stats - Leading scorer 5-6 jr. guard Hudson av 21.3 ppg.; 5-10 sr. guard Breen av 15.5 ppg.; 6-3 sr. forward Moore and 6-0 forward Frost on the front line also av double digits and lead the team in blocks and rebounds. 5-6 RS Frosh guard, Kelly, a transfer from DePaul. Hudson and Breen shoot 42% from three. Lost to Purdue in first game. Ave. 80+ ppg. Moore with 27 led scoring over SDSU.

Did you know Norwegians say people are "texas " when they go a little crazy? My wife is Norwegian and she went texas and bought the Flo subscription today.

Scott has played well and Camber struggled yesterday, justifies the change in the line up.

CMU's Hudson playing a perfect game so far. State trailing 38-31 late in the second qtr.

Mickey mouse box/diamond & 1 defense - smoke & mirrors against an M.A.C. school? Embarassing. Don't ALL FIVE CM starters average double figures? Why not match up mono to mono and have our young lasses LEARN a bit. You know, challenge them? Our offense looks like a junior high YMCA offense. Dribble, dribble, dribble, absolutely no player or ball movement, thus defense rests on EVERY possession. Perimeter players just stand in one place. Why not get the whole team involved with the offense a little, get them some touches? Would be great to see our whole team be hard to guard!

At the half, CMU 42, ISU 33.

Probably because Fennelly is old and his preferred style of play is old. If that's not the reason why I would say it is because the team would probably be worse before it got better. Other than Durr and Carleton the other players aren't used to making decisions and would probably make a lot of mistakes at first. If they don't do anything then they can't make mistakes...

We look really ragged in the first half and they are shooting lights out from long range. They are out rebounding us on the offensive boards. I hope it wasn't a pleasant half time. Go clones.

Getting smoked now. Down by more than we will even score in total this quarter. Turn out the lights on this one.:(

Em and Bridget are pretty much it for ISU, not much support from the rest of the team. Only 4 other players have scored, Scott with 8 as the Clones trail 71-55 with 6 and a half remaining.

This season is off to one big ?

Well, not a lot of reason so far to elevate expectations. Not looking like an NCAA team at this point. Not even going to predict Big 12 finish since we won't really be in any sort of contention. We'll win our share of Hilton games but away from Hilton we are likely to be similar to last year.

That was a very poor game from Wise and Burkhall just disappeared from view after the first quarter. We need to get an offense that is more than one pass and try to drive for the basket or a three point shot. How about working the ball around to get a better shot. It was just sad to see us miss grabbing rebound after rebound from a much shorter team. We need a lot work before the Big 12 season starts are we will be kissing the basement this season.

Did the Big 12 coaches not do a preseason Big 12 finish pick this year? Never saw anything on the Big 12 site. I usually find it at least somewhat interesting how the coaches view the teams.

Getting waxed by a mid major is not a good look. God I hope this isn't the year Bluder gets her first win in Hilton.

They play #13 Florida State Wednesday in IC so we will get a preview of how good they are this year. I wouldn't bet against them versus us right now. We'll have our hands full with Gustafson and Davis who worked us over last year. Might break the we win at home and they win a home streak. :(
