ISU Uniform Thread-last one forever

I couldn't agree more. The uniform in the original post is perfect and I wish it had been adopted 5 years ago. Leave the mustard yellow to the hawkeyes and go Gold, baby!

I think no helmets is a bad idea, with all the concussion talk and all.
I had a visitor in from California. His first comment when our team came on to the field was "man those uniforms are butt ugly". While I don't think they are the best we can do, I never thought they were down right ugly. So it was interesting to hear what some one that has never been to Iowa or knows anything about ISU football thought.
Maybe it's the Clone in me but I wouldn't call them butt ugly, but definitely outdated. I also don't think the reds in the helmet and red jersey go together very well. We have great colors to work with and it would be good to have modern looking upgraded unis to go with the great looking upgraded stadium.
Yup, 2007 was the Shaggy game in Ames, 15-13.
BTW, this second pic here looks like it was at home. Am I right? (All the red in the stands.) Did we wear white that day? What was the score? If I remember correctly, I think we won (?).
ISU should really just drop the two/three stripe look. Its been done by pretty much everyone and offers nothing for establishing a unique brand. I said it earlier in the thread, but something like the Trice stripes would be great for ISU. They are a unique design element in the college football world, while also having a tie into our past. It isnt overly flashy like Oregon or Baylor, and not overly busy like Maryland. At the same time we dont have the history and tradition of Bama or OU to go with a simple 2 colors and numbers on the side of the helmet.
I slightly modified this concept from earlier in the thread (credit ISUalum2012 for the original). The Trice stripes on the pants now come down from the hip instead of up from the knee, the shadow stripes go all the way down the front of the jersey, and I included numbers on the shoulders. I liked the original concept because, like I said earlier, it moves us away from the two/three stripe design that we have used for half a century. Something like this would help set us apart from every other school.

The Chiefs look good in their all-reds. Almost makes me miss the McCarney era unis. Wish we'd try this with our current wardrobe.
