All whites would be tricky as far as maintaining enough cardinal and gold to be easily identifiable.

To me, it may require mixed use of cardinal and gold with the numerals and the Trice-striping. (I would NOT want an all-white — either with current basic design or this hypothetical Trice alternate — that contains too little gold. I hate when teams with non-white secondary colors "drain" their uniforms of colors like gold, yellow, silver, orange, etc.)

That was exactly my thought. remove too much gold and we suddenly look like Nebby/Bama/A&M/Stanford etc. What ISU needs is something unique and easily identifiable. As I said earlier in the thread, the Trice-stripes are great because they are a unique design element in college football, unlike the 2 color accent stripe.

I would love to see the Trice-stripes on the shoulders, pants(coming down from the hip), and back of the helmet, along with the shadow stripes on the front of the jerseys. Have cardinal and gold variations for helmet, jersey, and pants as well as the white jersey and maybe white helmet.

Notice the yellow on these two. They are probably pretty close to the same color. But which one looks better? I'll let you decide. I like pic 2. A sharp design, w/ crisp lines and some contrast, makes all the difference.

The grey would make an outstanding alternate uni.

I figured with it being a "color it cardinal" game they might throw that combo out. I'm not sure how I would feel about it. Have we ever used that combo with these uniforms before?

Anything but those god-awful all yellow uni's. they're hideous what scares me is that I'm seeing marketing stuff for 2015 with those yellow get-ups

Yes, Amestoplease is the only one who has any business posting in this thread, as seen in mock-up above. For my money, that is the 2nd best option.

Even better to me was this variant - Real gold, cyclone on helmet, trice stripes on pants and jersey sleeve.

For those who did not know, especially us 'out-of-towners' (out of staters, actually), ISU did make a couple of subtle uniform changes this year (for 2015). Here's the link:

First game, 2015, vs UNI, not too bad, looks sharp. Still think we could use a few more tweaks to this current uniform, IF they don't someday decide to overhaul the design completely, someday. And they tweaked it some this year...who knows what they might tweak again next year.

I'd like to see us try all the possible combinations with these uniforms. So far we've done:

Red/Gold - standard home
White/White - standard away
White/Gold - alternate away (most recently @ Texas 2014)
White/Red - former standard away (2009-10)
Gold/Gold - alternate home (vs. Toledo 2014)
Gold/Red - alternate home (vs. Missouri 2010)


So we could still break out these that we haven't seen yet:

Red/Red
Red/White
Gold/White

Not sure any of these would really work (assuming red helmets). Red/White and Gold/White could both look good with white helmets. Red/Red might be worth a shot sometime if we could really convince the crowd to go all out or do some red-based card thing in the stands.

I'd love to see a return to the White/Red as the standard away uniform but apparently that's not gonna happen.
