ISU looking into incident that involves Sims

I love the fact that the Register runs a story about a rumor involving an ISU player. That's professionalism.

It is obvious that the Register hacks troll this board for their stories, so take that into consideration when posting info regarding rumors.

I'd say it is beyond the point of being a rumor if a warrant was issued and it is public record...

I wouldn't call it a rumor when the athletic department is on record saying they are looking into an incident invovling Sims. While the nature of the incident is unknown the fact the AD is investing this is newsworthy.

I wouldn't consider it a RUMOR if ISU is confirming they are looking into the matter.

Also, if this was an Iowa Player, and the University of Iowa confirmed they were looking into it, the same story would be there...

So are they suppose to wait on all stories until the case goes through the judicial system? Innocent until proven guilty. Stop being so sensitive.
Should probably wait until they have something to write. Possibly wait until the search warant has been entered or wait until they get some info from the police.

Otherwise, they have a story about an incident

Bingo. A possible incident at this point.

Disagree and it wasn't with Satterfield and Everson. That story was swept uder the rug hard and the only news source that pursued it rigorously was the Press-Citizen. The Rag turned it's head.

Interesting enough, Do a Google search for Adrian Clayborn Assault and then do a Google search for "Adrian Clayborn Assault Des Moines REgister." I think you will see what I am talking about. The Gazette and Press-Citizen do a decent job of covering it but the Rag is MIA.

They(DSM Rag reporters) wouldnt know about it if they weren't fishing around on message boards, either CF or CR.

Hopefully he just saved someone's life and they are looking to reward Sims in a proper way? :jimlad:

Who am I kidding? We're screwed without this guy.

It's called being dumb and young. If the majority of normal students were under the microscope these guys are you'd see the same mistakes.
Agree but when you sign scholly papers, you agree to be under the microscope, particularly in the major sports. It is like wanting to be famous but then having privacy as well. Sorry but they don't go hand in hand.

BTW- My roommate in college was put on probation and had an academic scholarship taken away due to a public intox and simple assault. He got liquored up and got in a fight. So it does happen to "normal students."

Probably because he was charged with disorderly conduct not assault

There is fire with this smoke.

I attempted to post something about it yesterday, but of course my threads were deleted.

From my sources it involves "finding" a credit card and not making good decisions from there....

(hopefully this post sticks around)

It's not a rumor, it's an incident, and per ISU's AD there is an ongoing investigation. There might be different rumors as to what exactly is being looked at, but it is 100% fact that there is an investigation.

It's not a rumor that ISU is looking into an incident with David Sims. That was confirmed by our associate AD. The Register is not out to bring down ISU athletics.

If this was Iowa City it wouldn't be investigated until after the season. The police department would be on vacation until 2011.

Which is interesting since the RAG and Press Citizen are both owned by Gannett. They often share stories.

There are far better newspapers in the state than the RAG, it has to be one of the worst IMO.

a friend of mine had her credit card stolen. the perpetrators went to gumbys pizza and ordered delivery. she called to cancel the credit card and was told that a charge was just placed at gumbys.

she calls police and has them contact gumbys to get the delivery address. the police go with the delivery guy and deliver a slice of cheesy justice.

i hope this situation is similar in stupidity to that one. that would just make my day:no:
