That's all I'm doing right now.

I'm getting an early start to smacking the squawk fans in the face.

Congrats to the Clones. I am frustrated, but ISU was clearly the better team on the field. I was extremely impressed with Bowen again and Meyer had a great command. You have to feel good for your kicker.

The best Bret Meyer that we've seen since the Independence Bowl I believe.

I wanted win a game that meant something. These non conference wins against unranked teams mean nothing to me. Coaches, I loved your game plan, wish I could have seen it.

Unbelievable! It's five in the morning here in China and the place is going crazy. Actually I was the only one in the country to watch it but I did paint my face red with ISU on it. Awesome game on the slingbox, great start for the future.

My thoughts, exactly. On that final drive, I really had confidence that Meyer could make something happen for the Clones based on the leadership he'd shown all day. And he did! That pass to Bates was not only beautiful, but a really smart play based on the coverage. I hope this version of Meyer shows up for the rest of our games this year.

Who would have thought that we would score all of our points off of something we traditionally have some troubles with. =) I love this day. What an awesome game.

The shoe is on the other foot now,

Iowa can use the "we won the second half" argument and they can have exclusive use of it from now on as far as I'm concerned. Hope we never have to use it again.

How about the improvement overall in this game from the previous two. We still made some mistakes, but holy cow what a difference in other areas.

Actually, I thought we won the game in spite of Meyer. He continues to carry the ball just asking to fumble it...and he did. He has learned nothing since the Houston Bowl fumble. Other teams will have that scouted you bet.
His check downs in the second half to worthless 2 yard pass plays were dangerous. Don't even throw the ball if the guys are covered like they are on the checkdowns.
He continues to telegraph with his eyes and head direction when on many plays...Fortunately, the hawk d-back was slow and/or stupid on some of those obvious 3rd down outs to JJ Sumerall and let him get the pass. A good corner will not.
His deep throws were uninspiring, except of course the great one to BAtes at end.
I guess the most disturbing is his running effort. His first two runs of game were great and indeed great decision making and done with vigor, but after that it was same old ankel-tackle Brett. I wish he would run like Christensen did, especially since he is a Senior, with some abandon.

I suggest a rotating QB system with Austin, ever other series. I think that will get both quarterbacks thriving.
Alvin Bowen is the real deal though. I had been thinking he was the product of poor d-line and HAD to make all those tackle opportunities. I say recruit more Gymnasts and wrestlers!

Hats off to the Cyclones

Totally outplayed the Hawks today for a well earned first victory of the Chizik era. :notworthy:
