ISU -Iowa Post Game Thread

Doesn't everyone think that since we have won 7 of the last 10 meetings that we should look into dropping these guys from our schedule? Let's bring in some competition that actually has some national respect, and will bring the intensity needed to compete with us.

I don't know. But I bet the talk from the iowa camp about dropping the series, the ******** about the contract, or the "they need us more than we need them" banter goes away for about another 11 months.

I think I might have posted that same thought once or twice this week...

BEST....THREAD....EVER!!!!

I was going to be happy with a loss as long as we gave a good effort. Even after the first half, I was sure that EIU would find a way to win the game. Shame on me! I'm not worthy!!!:notworthy:

You know what was impressive about this game was the fact the team never gave up. Clearly the momentum had shifted in the second half to Iowas favor. After Iowa scored the last field goal and took the lead we could have easily rolled over. We didn't!

We've still got a big mountain to climb and I'm sure we have heart break in front of us, but this game sure is going to help my attitude out the rest of the season. I'm seeing slow improvement each week and that's all I need at this point.

I agree. We scored zero TDs, had a turnover, and 300 total yards isn't the greatest.

Defense gets an A today. Shaggy gets an A. Offense gets a C+ or B-.

I've been saying for weeks that the defense actually doesn't look that bad, they've just been on the field way too long and they've gotten exhausted.

The offense kept the defense off the field most of the day (minus the 3rd quarter) today and the defense was able to hold the Iowa offense in check for most of the day (minus the 3rd quarter) today. It seems that my argument now has been validated - have an offensive drive long enough to give the defense rest and they'll perform! I give the offense a B for allowing the defense to rest today.
