ISU Gambling Megathread

I don't but Enyi's Attorney suggests this is the case and he would most likely have access to that information.
I don't see why it would be illegal to get a report of athletes gambling, from the sports book, or the gaming commission, whatever, and then investigate athletes.

sorry if this is naive question at this point, but is lee the only one to officially be off the team currently, or have I missed others dismissed/leaving?

edit: just saw on kngs.tv that dekkers stepped away from the program as well as dodge sauser.

I never said it was a sting. I feel like the charges are really grasping for straws.

Criminally, it should be a fine for the underage players and nothing for the of age players.

The betting on/against your own team also?

I just don’t understand why you are ignoring the fact that they willfully concealed their identity to gamble. That’s against the law my man.

Well much different take by sleazy kkkirk. He says that the Shannon kid an exceptional kid and leader who “ committed no crime, he just has an ncaa issue to deal with”……..
His exact words from Hawkeye wire mailbag article.

Because he didn’t use someone else’s account probably. What’s the problem with what Kirk said? Nothing in my book.

Now I’m confused. Has the slow a** ncaa put forth any punishments? So he’s trying to grease the skids for gambling kids to play? Adults need to step in here and say what should happen to these players. But after the harbaugh disaster who knows

I am not ignoring it but I can't find an Iowa Code Section that addresses it. Can you point me to the Iowa code section?

Because the only things I can find in the Iowa code is the underage part. I also found a section which addresses allowing someone who is not legal to gamble to use your information, but that would be charges for the parent (in this case) and not the underage person.

715A.5 Tampering with records.
A person commits an aggravated misdemeanor if, knowing that the person has no privilege to do so, the person falsifies, destroys, removes, or conceals a writing or record, with the intent to deceive or injure anyone or to conceal any wrongdoing.

It’s right there in the wording. They falsified a record (using their parents account/name in place of their own) with the intent to conceal the wrongdoing (gambling underage).

It’s in the forgery and related fraudulent criminal acts, §715A.5 section

Is it forgery though if the person allowed you to use their information or they helped you use the information?

Forgery is usually defined as using someone' information without their knowledge or consent.
