ISU 17th in AP poll.

Rankings in November should never bother anyone. They are completely meaningless.

I hope Iowa is ranked as high as possible before we crush them. It will give us another "impressive" win.

Agreed. Iowa being ranked gives us another shot to boost our NCAA tournament resume. Plus, it's a lot more fun beating Iowa when they think they're actually good. If they're terrible and everyone knew it, beating them isn't as much fun.

Regardless, I'm really looking forward to an Iowa/ISU game that actually has some hype. We haven't had a game in this series mean much since the Eustachy/Morgan/Alford years.

ISU earned the rank. EIU had it gift wrapped for them. That's probably why it bothers a lot of people.

Well... come December 13th ISU will take that gift wrapped ranking and shove it straight up the hoks ***. Basically I am saying that their days in the top 25 are numbered.

I hope so, but it is a tough match up for us.

iowa is not a bad team this year at all. I just think there is a definite ceiling for them due to their lack of playmakers and real genuine athleticism.

I don't know what Iowa State's ceiling is yet this year. They are tough though, and that will keep us in a lot of games, and give us a chance to win.

Iowa is deep. The jury is still out on how good that depth will be against legitimate competition.

If Fred liked going deep on his bench and we played the #344th schedule SDW, Percy and Edozie would have probably looked impressive through five games. I buy that they are very long and 8-9 deep, their fans claim to be 10-11 deep but there's absolutely no way they have 11 players I'd have wanted ISU to put on the court against BYU and Michigan compared to the 7-8 we played.

I can't wait to see this ISU team play Iowa. Kane matched up against Gesell... I like ISU's chances to exploit the hell out of that matchup. I'll take Niang against any of Iowa's bigs down in the paint. Ejim... I'll take his athleticism against any of the hoks they try to put on him as well.

I'd venture to say now that the tougher competition is starting for Iowa you'll probably see the starters and top subs getting the bulk of the minutes.

What's your take on the Ejim vs. White matchup?

Fred could play 3 more guys and everyone would say we are deep. People forget Percy has 2 years of experience under him and lit Iowa up last year. With the way college basketball is played now you don't need a regular rotation of more than 8 guys IMO. Problem with Iowa is after their top 3, they don't know with who their next best 5 are and will probably play 10 all year
