ISR March to Madness thread

It looked like Keegan was going to get the rebound on Jbos three. So we would have had the ball with 30 seconds left in a tie game. Its not as if Wisconsin was definitely going to win the game without that call.
You can't assume a rebound after a blown whistle

I think that would be wise. If Iowa ran the table at the Big 10 tourney (chuckles) they would move up to the coveted 1-line though. Would you risk a re-aggravation for a shot at that? It's a tough call IMO. A one seed is almost a free pass to the Sweet 16, somewhere Iowa hasn't tread in over 20 years.

I don't think Iowa would move up to the 1 line if they win the conference tournament.

What are the refs supposed to do? I mean hook and hold always have to be reviewed. Obviously the out of bounds play under 1 min to play needed to be reviewed as well.
just seems like they went to the monitor quite a bit the last few minutes.

I don't think Iowa can get a #1 seed by winning the BTT. I think they could solidify a #2 seed with a win. If they lose first game, then they could be a #3 seed. However, getting a higher #2 seed is important this year in order to avoid Gonzaga.

I think Iowa is locked in as a 2 seed no matter what happens in the conference tournament.

Have to wonder where Drake stands with the committee. In a normal year I'd be worried about their chances, but methinks Pollard will have their back and get them into the play-in round at worst.

Pollard wants Drake to make the tournament to help sell the DeVries hire to the Iowa State fanbase. How about that for conspiracy?

Maybe it's a stretch. To me though, it would make sense, the way Ohio State and Michigan wilted the past couple weeks. If Iowa could beat Michigan/Illinois head to head in the Big Ten tournament, they would be deserving IMO. The bracket probably won't lend itself for them to play both though I suppose.

Still don't think an 8 loss team will get a #1 seed. Michigan built up a ton of #1 seed capital throughout the year and will still most likely get a #1 seed. I think Illinois is also in the mix. Iowa if firmly planted on the #2 line at the moment. But like I said, what #2 seed you get makes a big difference this year. Don't want to be the #2 with Gonzaga or Baylor.

Iowa has 7 losses and would need to win 3 games this weekend to have the slightest chance at a 1 seed. If Iowa loses and gets to 8 losses then they aren't getting a 1.

definitely would have to beat Illinois and Michigan back to back for any shot and that may not be enough. Lunardi's updated bracket is about as favorable as the Hawks could hope for realistically. Pulling Villanova as the 3 seed if you're the 2 would be a good break.
