Iowa vs. NDSU

Will isu be on their 2nd or 3rd savior after Campbell when this contract is done?

I would say right now Campbell has more of an upside going for him than Kirk. Kirk had a 12-0 regular season last year and now everyone grumbling about a loss to NDSU and a close game with Rutgers. Campbell is just getting started and has no where to go but up.

When you start in the basement, that's true

What was Kirk's first year record at Iowa? 1-10 and 0-8 in the Big10. Campbell has matched Kirk's first year win total, and I would say the cupboard was a lot more empty for him than for Kirk. It takes time. Can Campbell turn things around at ISU? I certainly hope so. Time will tell. If Campbell can continue to match what Kirk did in his first three years at Iowa, I will be happy.

I don't usually get into the whole super bowl debate but your squad clearly played their best game against us. Haven't looked anywhere close to the same the last couple games and who could forget that ridiculous shirt? Definitely seems like the ISU game was more important than the others up to this point. We know who and what we are and that's a team that was flat out terrible the first couple weeks and has shown signs of improvement since but still has a lot of work to do. Delusional is losing to NDSU and barely escaping Rutgers yet still trying to pump up your team. You've been exposed as a mediocre football team just accept it. Don't worry though you'll still have an ok season because of your schedule. Would love for us to play more SJSU and KU level teams so we could win some more games. I'd just be realistic about the fact that we aren't an elite or even really good team because we benefitted from a lot of weak competition. All you can do is just play the hand your dealt and enjoy the ride.

Well stated.

Here's a good starting point. Let's go with Kirk Ferentz's tenure at Iowa. Hows the record during that time period?

I am not trying to knock anyone, but like I stated in an early post, Kirk struggled in years 1 and 2 and got it going in year 3. If Campbell can duplicate that, I'm good

Hey now, that was just a fluke. They bounced back strong in week 4 by battling through to a crazy 7-point victory over B1G powerhouse Rutgers.
And your probable lone victory came against a team without their starting quarterback-awesome!
