Iowa vs. NDSU

42-3?

Iowa has won 9 of the last 14.

Delusion.
I don't usually get into the whole super bowl debate but your squad clearly played their best game against us. Haven't looked anywhere close to the same the last couple games and who could forget that ridiculous shirt? Definitely seems like the ISU game was more important than the others up to this point. We know who and what we are and that's a team that was flat out terrible the first couple weeks and has shown signs of improvement since but still has a lot of work to do. Delusional is losing to NDSU and barely escaping Rutgers yet still trying to pump up your team. You've been exposed as a mediocre football team just accept it. Don't worry though you'll still have an ok season because of your schedule. Would love for us to play more SJSU and KU level teams so we could win some more games. I'd just be realistic about the fact that we aren't an elite or even really good team because we benefitted from a lot of weak competition. All you can do is just play the hand your dealt and enjoy the ride.

So what was the deal with Iowa's offense on Saturday? I only caught bits and pieces during commercials but it seemed like both teams were doing a lot of punting. Plus it took a turnover and short field to set up the winning score. Not what I was expecting against Rutgers.

They blew their load against us and Kirk decided the coast to the end of his contract because he can't get fired. Kirk called it a season after his Super Bowl.

They played like crap again. That is now four of their last six games where they have just looked pathetic. Five of the last six if you count Miami of Ohio. They better get it turned around quick or 6-6 is a very real possibility.

Which is weird to me considering you wanted Ferentz around for 10 more years

Where did I say that? I thought the contract was for too many years for too much money with too high of a buyout. I still contend that Kirk has done a good to great job at Iowa when looking at the big picture. Not that he is without his faults for sure, but you can do a lot worse than Kirk as we have seen at many programs that should be winning more than they do when getting a bad hire.

You did say this

Taken out of context for sure. I do hope he is here another 10 years cause if he is, then that means he did a good job. What I was saying, is that if he is here another 10 years then that means he was successful and didn't get fired. I still hope that is the case as that would be a great thing for Iowa.

But I also feel that Kirk could have stayed at Iowa for 10 more years without a straight up 10 year contract that locks you in to him with a huge buyout. Would have been much better to extend him a couple of years and then if successful a couple more.

Depends what you consider "good". He can definitely be in Iowa City for 10 years and only have 1 or 2 top 25 finishes. If you guys are serious about Farley you probably will need to make a move in the next 5 years or so

Have never heard his name pop up before for whom Iowa would ever be interested in. Obviously, firing Kirk isn't happening for at least two more years regardless, so not something to even think about it at the moment.

Well hopefully for both of us he's still in Iowa City 10 years from now
