Iowa v Tenn

I don't get why that isn't a fumble. If it would have been caught before it hit the ground is it considered an int or a fumble recovery?

At 2pm I left my office for a meeting elsewhere in the building, walk by Hawkeye (wal-mart variety) co-worker, lights on in office, radio pre-game on, babbling about Big 10 wins, SEC blah blah blah...

Just came back by his office, his lights/radio are off, he's gone, already knew it must be good, turned on the radio and hear "It has not been a good day at the office for the Hawkeyes", 28-0 bwahahaha!!! Classic bandwagon hawk fan.

But then they just scored a touchdown so I'm shutting the radio back off.

interception. By rule a ball thrown forward can't be considered a fumble, it's a pass.

Correct, and now that I look at it, of course it was a pass. An illegal pass is still a pass, it's either incomplete or caught/intercepted. The only way TN could have taken possession would be if they caught it out of the air and declined the penalty.

Incorrect. It's a dead ball once it's thrown. Can't intercept an illegal pass. Play over. 5 yard penalty. Loss of down?
