I'm still amazed how someone comes on this forum, admits he has an OWI, then proceeds to claim some moral high ground on other people for his views on drunk driving. When those other people are not justifying the act of drunk driving just saying what happens and how certain things may be done. All because only his opinion is superior because he "learned his lesson". Yet others were smart enough to not make that mistake in the first place, even though he claims to still be superior.
No one on this forum once said drunk driving is right. No one said it should be legal. No one said anything like that. People said certain things are done here or there, and things like booze cruising happens etc. It was a discussion, period. Many also said it wasn't right to publicly blast this guy, not knowing the entire story. And some of you automatically took that as justification and started putting words in peoples posts. It was said that Booze cruising on country gravel roads is less dangerous, well it is, because those of us from rural areas know that country road booze cruising is done at extremely low speeds. This is different than straight up DD, on highways and roads to get from point A to B. This is not a justification it is not anything saying it is right, it is just what it is, a statement, of what happens.
Those of you that have never put on a pair of work boots, never gotten your hands dirty, never spent a day in rural America, or have no actual knowledge of rural life should just keep your mouth shut. Too many of you have lived a sheltered life in your metro apartment, scared to go out and see what the real world is. How would you live without a Starbucks on the corner, and a Walmart down the street?
Many of you in this forum should realize there are a lot of Iowa State fans from all walks of life, and many of those are Rural people. Amazing how many keyboard warriors there are on this forum, I can only imagine how they would act and speak to someone in person. My guess is the courage stops at the keyboard.
