Iowa new transfer?

Lol. Is this the "have less success on the court and recruiting trail but have a better foundation" thing those crazy Hok fans speak of?

Past success is not a good predictor for future success with Iowa State because they have an entirely new team every year. If you fail to recognize a 25 win team that returns all its significant players and adds 1.) a top 150 recruit and 2.) One of the best HS shooters in the nation, then that is your prerogative. I just find it funny that a team that has zero NCAA tournament appearances since 2006 is being talked about more heading into next season than a team that has been to the tourney multiple times in a row.

Joke of a schedule

Apparently only Mark Phelps and Fran agree with you on that one.

So if Iowa won 25 games with the 43rd toughest schedule in the country, and Iowa State won 23 games with the 54th toughest schedule, you must admit that Iowa State played a joke of a schedule as well.

Also, Jok signed his LOI before his senior year, in which many high major coaches (Bruce Weber, Bo Ryan, etc.) planned on keeping a close eye on him to see how he responded from his knee injury. He clearly has developed well, as I can't imagine too many other high school players are 50/40/90 shooters while taking the volume of shots that Jok had to take for Valley (Matt Thomas surely isn't).

If you can't see that Iowa is in just as good a position moving forward (if not better) as Iowa State is, I guess I don't know what to tell you. Iowa has a dearth of talented young players, but many ISU fans discount them, I suppose because many of them are white and goofy looking. Not to mention Fran has a very good shot at pulling in two or three top 100 recruits in this upcoming recruiting class. Like I said, neither fanbase would trade the direction their program is headed for the other's.

Perhaps you meant to say wealth? Anyways in that context, it made me LOL.

Delusion. Name one top recruit Iowa got that wasn't an Iowa native and probable hawk fan. I'll wait.
ISU is in far better shape going forward than Iowa, only a fool hawk fan would think otherwise. Don't believe me, ask anyone outside of Iowa City. You might have to go outside the B10 since you all have become nut nuggers of each other trying to justify your conference strength when in reality, that conference is a joke. With the new divisions, it will be even more of a joke.

Wow, the insecurities that you all have are really sad. When you have to just make **** up to not kill yourselves it should really let you know where you rank in the world.

I get that you can't really be honest about the reality of your situation. But that you come on here with this nonsense, sounds like you are trying really hard to convince yourself. I get that you sit with the Wal-Mart rejects and try to convince yourselves that since you saw someone on Virginia wearing a hawk baseball cap that proves you are some sort of national juggernaut.

But record low bowl tv ratings, no-one caring about wrestling, and no ncaa appearances in going on 8 years should tell you no-one cares.

You beat more irrelevant teams than ISU, congrats, still got beat by 20+ to a team ISU beat twice.
and as for Jok, not buying it. Show me highlights post knee surgery where he isnT shooting? I have not seen him attack the basket or show any type of above average athleticism. Not a bit loss with Jok until proven otherwise.

Sounds like a KenPom stat to me. You have an actual link to back that up?

1. Does it matter that Iowa's recruits grew up Hawk fans? Does that somehow disqualify them from being the top 100 recruits that they were?

2. If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls. Iowa State? Nowhere to be found.

3. The Big Ten has been far and away the best basketball conference the last two or three years. Anyone that refuses to admit that is either a moron, lacks objectivity, or doesn't know anything about basketball. Which one are you?

So where does the big rank in football?

And iowa has had NOTHING to do with the big strength the last two years. But nut hug some more so you can ignore where you actually rank.

B1G has probably ranked 3rd or 4th in football the last several years.

For the other poster who requested a link, I shall provide:

1. Sure it matters. They can't recruit players who aren't hawk fans. I will take Michigans Mr Basketball and Wisconsin's runner up over Peter Jok any day.
2. Bahahahahaha. Top 5 are you kidding me. Link?
3. Last year was a strong year for the B10 but the last 3 years, please...

Anyone who uses the RPI as the basis to any argument regarding college basketball loses any and all credibility. The RPI is an incredibly outdated model that does not factor in margin of victory and rewards teams for scheduling DII schools. Any ranking system that boasts New Mexico as the second best team in the country, as well as Colorado State and Belmont as top 20 teams this past season should be given no credence to any argument involving college basketball.

Still waiting for this espn link.
