Iowa Beat Writers

I'm really dreading seeing how many Iowa fans fill Hilton for the women's game this year. We need our fans to snatch up those tickets, or the bandwagon cockroaches will be slobbering from the balcony all game.
Won’t be surprised to see some behind our bench or at least mid court

I went to a UW hockey game against Michigan at Camp Randall, late winter 2010. They had to pause all night to re-ice.

Fun ideas but there's many reasons why they're ideally inside.

Said this in a previous thread, give wwb tkt holders 1st crack all other season tkt holders a chance then reset the price to $20/tkt. If they are going to come visit they might as well pay.

Meh there always are, the lady a few seats from me comes to all the ISU games but when it comes to that game she wears her Hawkeye gear every time.

To be honest, I think we would have done the same thing as fans...but not sure if our beat writers would have done that.
That’s my point, they (the tv station) are SUPPOSED to be impartial and they lead with a very minor connection of first one to congratulate a new record setter was a Hawkeye. Pretty pathetic to me.

They are not supposed to be impartial. They are supposed to cover local news. I agree it's a huge stretch to make a Hawkeye congratulating Taurasi on the record a local story, but it's standard practice in journalism to find the local angle on a national story. It's lame, but it's not journalistic malpractice. We need everyone in society to take media literacy and journalism courses. The amount of misunderstanding is frustrating. Everyone thinks they're a professional journalist.

Anyways, yeah, it was a lame headline that should've been a pass from the editors. But it was a social media post, not an actual story.

Gotta love WHO13 this morning...they run a 3 minute piece on all things Swarm including interviews with Exile and others ect...then they cut back to the desk and we hear "ISU also has a collective, WeWill" and next topic

Least surprising thing in the world. WHO radio isn't the only flagship station for UofI so is their TV station.
